A homeowner in Epping, New Hampshire, had purchased their forever home about a month ago. A couple of weeks into owning the home they noticed the floors in their kitchen were sloping. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist recommended installing Helical Piers and PolyLevel to the foundation to stop the foundation from settling. The team installed 6 Helical Piers to the foundation footing and PolyLevel over the piers to stabilize the foundation.
This homeowner in Epping, New Hampshire had called EFS to address water concerns in their basement. During the installation of their new waterproofing system, our team notified the homeowner that the block foundation wall in the basement was leaning inward. Our team recommended installing 4 PowerBraces against the foundation wall to stabilize and gradually straighten the foundation walls.
A homeowner in Salem, MA noticed sinking and sagging floors in his home. Looking to permanently stabilize the floors and provide support to the home, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, Kenneth Calabrese, recommended installing SmartJacks in the basement. These SmartJacks are similar to Lally columns, while offering more support and providing permanent stability. Typically, these SmartJacks are cemented into the foundation. Since the basement floor was composed of pebbles, the SmartJack steel plates were buried in them. This allows for the SmartJacks to be cemented into the foundation if/when the homeowner has a concrete slab poured.
With the installation of these 5 SmartJacks, the floors are now stabilized and level.
A homeowner in West Newbury, Massachusetts was concerned with the amount of water leaking through her basement walls. She turned to Erickson Foundation Solutions to solve the problem.
After scheduling an appointment through our Customer Care Specialist, a Design Specialist went to the home to conduct a free inspection. Our Design Specialist noticed that the homeowner's basement wall was heavily cracked and bowing in, which is what was causing it to leak. Unfortunately, bowing walls are a sign of much worse problems. Thankfully, our free inspection allowed the homeowner to be aware of the bowing brick and fieldstone foundation and offer a solution before potentially collapsing. Our Design Specialist recommended installing our PowerBrace Wall Repair System to stop further damage and potentially straighten the wall. We also recommended installing a waterproofing system, but emphasized that fixing the bowing wall should be the priority. The homeowner understood the importance of the situation and opted to get the PowerBrace installed.
After our installation crew installed the auxiliary wall, they also offered advice to help keep the basement dry until a waterproofing system is put in place. With this wall support system in place, the basement foundation wall is now stabilized, and the house is properly supported.
