A condominium association located in Brighton, Massachusetts, encountered a problem with a couple of units that had sinking foundations. The association sought help from EFS to find a solution for this issue. Our Design Specialist, was assigned to meet with the association's manager to inspect the affected condos and suggest the appropriate solutions for each case. After the inspection, we recommended the installation of Push Piers, Helical Piers, and a slab pour to stabilize the foundation and repair the basement slab for one of the condos.
It was the ideal permanent solution, and with the new poured slab floor to replace the existing broken up basement slab, the unit now had a stabilized foundation and a clean space.
Tom A. of Arlington, Massachusetts has a fieldstone foundation that was crumbling, and wanted to know what options he had. Tom had called EFS to see if they could send out someone out to look at his home. Erickson Foundation Solutions sent out Design Specialist Michael Bradley to the home. Michael inspected the basement of the home and proposed a Poly Foam to coat the inside of the fieldstone foundation and then SmartJacks to add support to some of the older beams in the home.
Crew Lead Spencer Ladd and his team came to the home and sprayed the foam and installed the new SmartJacks into the basement. After the project, Tom actually likes the look more with the white foam finish than the untouched fieldstone.

A Design Specialist arrived at the home and inspected the foundation wall to assess the severity of the foundation issue. The Design Specialist came up with a solution that would stop the foundation from leaning. The solution that was proposed to the homeowner was to build a retaining wall against the foundation wall.
