A homeowner in Boxford, Massachusetts, recently purchased the home she had lived in their entire life. The homeowner runs an ice cream business out of the home as well. The homeowner planned on renovating the 150-year-old home and making sure it is there forever home. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Kenny recommended installing SmartJacks under the support beams in the basement to add more support to the main floor of the home.
This sunroom addition was installed on posts and concrete pillars in the ground. Overtime, the addition began to settle due to the unstable soils around the pillars. Erickson Foundation Supportworks installed EZ Posts beneath the sunroom to stabilize and slightly lift the addition back to level.
This homeowner in Northwood, New Hampshire, had Erickson Foundation Solutions come out to their home a couple of years ago to repair their foundation wall that had cracked and bowed. This time the bowing was occurring on the other side of the foundation. The same Design Specialist came back out to the home and inspected the other side of the basement. We recommended installing 8 more PowerBraces to the other side of the foundation to straighten the wall and stabilize the foundation wall.
Our installation team installed the 8 PowerBraces on the opposite side of the basement where the previous 8 PowerBraces were installed. The team stabilized and straightened the foundation wall by tightening the PowerBraces against the wall.
This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts had been experiencing sinking in the middle of his home. The main floors in his home are slanting toward the middle of the home. The homeowner would like to find a way to lift and stabilize the floors. The homeowner had a friend that does engineering that design a fix. The fix included support that is set in the ground around 2' and has a pier connected to it. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and their thoughts on this type of solution.
Crew Lead Chris Tremblay and his team arrived at the home and installed 6 SmartJacks with Concentric Push Piers.
This before and after highlights how temporary, adjustable basement columns eventually fail over time. Our SmartJack steel supports were the ideal, permanent solution and will fully stabilize the weight of the floor system above in this Peabody home. The SmartJacks are engineered for holding much more weight than any temporary column and are a fully warrantied system.
