This homeowner was concerned with the sagging floors in his home. The support columns in the basement beneath the floor joists were very narrow and not properly supporting the weight of the home above. Per the city of Everett's building requirements, our Erickson Foundation team replaced the unstable posts with new lally columns in various locations throughout the basement. Some of the new columns also included a top plate of a steel I-beam to assist with distributing the weight over several feet rather than just at single points.
The support posts in this basement were old wooden columns. Over time they were not stabilizing the floor system above properly. The failing posts were replaced by Erickson Foundation Solutions with SmartJacks.
This homeowner in Malden Massachusetts had a problem where their chimney had started tilting away from their home due to poor soil conditions beneath it. They hired our Erickson Foundation Supportworks team to install push-piers to rectify the issue.
Michael Biedrzycki was the design specialist that came out to the home and took a look at the chimney. He proposed push-piers to support the footing of the chimney and to straighten it as well. Jon Provost was the crew lead on this project. He and his team installed the piers and permanently stabilized it's footing.
A homeowner in Wakefield, Massachusetts, had tree logs as supports in their late 1800s home. The trees had deteriorated over the years and the homeowners had noticed a sag in their main floor. They called EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended replacing the tree logs.
