This homeowner in Malden Massachusetts had a problem where their chimney had started tilting away from their home due to poor soil conditions beneath it. They hired our Erickson Foundation Supportworks team to install push-piers to rectify the issue.
Michael Biedrzycki was the design specialist that came out to the home and took a look at the chimney. He proposed push-piers to support the footing of the chimney and to straighten it as well. Jon Provost was the crew lead on this project. He and his team installed the piers and permanently stabilized it's footing.
The support posts in this basement were old wooden columns. Over time they were not stabilizing the floor system above properly. The failing posts were replaced by Erickson Foundation Solutions with SmartJacks.
A homeowner in Wakefield, Massachusetts, had tree logs as supports in their late 1800s home. The trees had deteriorated over the years and the homeowners had noticed a sag in their main floor. They called EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended replacing the tree logs.
A homeowner in Wakefield, Massachusetts was experiencing bouncy and unlevel floors. The wooden Lally columns in their basement began cracking and splitting, causing concern. Looking for peace of mind, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, Debra Rayborn, recommended installing SmartJacks to stabilize the floor and support the home. Our SmartJacks provide more stability than Lally columns, especially wooden ones, due to the galvanized steel plate and beam. Since they are also adjustable, we ensure that this is a permanent solution!
With the 5 SmartJacks installed, the floors are now stabilized, level, and no longer bouncy.
This homeowner in Melrose, Massachusetts had some cracks in the wall and ceiling. They also noticed sloping on the floor on the main level. Design Specialist John Prince came to the home and found that they only have one support in their basement, so he proposed that the homeowners have Smart Jacks installed in their basement. Crew Lead Nick Melo and his team came to the home to install Smart Jacks into the basement and repaired the cracks in the walls.
