Homeowners in Georgetown, Massachusetts planned on making a playroom for their children in the basement. After getting the permitting to build, they learned that an egress window needed to be installed for the basement to be up to code. Looking for a company that could provide quality work at a reasonable price, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, John Prince, recommended installing an egress window with a RockWell window well and cover. The egress window, paired with the well and cover, is designed to allow more natural light into the living space, while also providing a safe exit in the event of an emergency. The RockWell well system has built in steps and a strong, durable lid that prevents children, pets, and everything else from falling in.
With these systems installed, the homeowners can build their playroom knowing it will be a bright and safe space!
A homeowner in Strafford, New Hampshire experienced leaks in his finished basement. This created an annoying cleanup process, as well as damages to the finished wall. His main concern was being away from home for long periods of time. As someone who frequently travels, he wanted peace of mind that his basement wouldn't flood while he is away.
Our Design Specialist, Jason Vachon, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and upgrading the liner to the already existing sump pump. WaterGuard collects water from the high-water table surrounding the home and delivers it to the sump pump. It is then pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. The basin that the sump pump used to sit in left the pump exposed, which can be problematic. The TripleSafe liner covers the pump, which prevents debris from clogging the system and minimizes humidity. Once WaterGuard is connected to the sump basin, they are cemented in place to ensure proper flow and create a smooth finish.
With the basement waterproofed, this homeowner finally has the peace of mind that he's been searching for.
These homeowners in Mirror Lake, New Hampshire recently purchased their forever home. Before further investing in other home projects, they wanted to make sure the foundation was secure and safe. This led them to reach out to our Erickson Foundations Team to schedule a free inspection.
Justin Broussard carefully inspected the basement and then consulted with the homeowners. He noticed that one of their foundation walls was bowing extremely inward and was at risk of even potentially collapsing in. For a home that was built in the 1700's, it was crucial that this home got the support it needed. Justin recommended installing our PowerBrace auxiliary foundation wall. This wall stabilizes the fieldstone foundation. The homeowners recognized the importance of the situation and scheduled an installation date.
Once our installation crew had the auxiliary wall in place and completed the job, they had a walkthrough with the homeowners to go over the work that was done. The homeowners were very happy with the job knowing that their forever home is now supported by a strong foundation.
A homeowner was in search of a way to waterproof the basement so it could be turned into a 1/2 bedroom and 1/2 storage space. Without a waterproofing system in place, water would leak through cracks in the slab and puddle around the foundation. This homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to eliminate water from the basement permanently.
After completing a free inspection, our Design Specialist recommended installing our SuperSump sump pump, NexusPro joint repair, and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This system stops water from being able to enter the basement and safely removes it away from the home. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant that seals joints and cracks in your concrete slab and helps prevent the water from softening and/or eroding the soil underneath. The SuperSump sits at the lowest point of the basement cemented in a basin and pumps water out of the home through an exterior drainage line. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier removes moisture and other toxins in the air and creates a dry and comfortable climate. This is a great product for those planning on living in the basement.
With all of the systems in place, this homeowner can confidently execute the plans made for the basement knowing that it will be safe and dry.
This homeowner in East Kingston, NH had been experiencing a wet basement since the day he moved into the house. The high amount of moisture led to mold forming throughout the basement and also the first floor. After 22 years of experiencing this uncomfortable humidity, the homeowner decided to reach out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team to make a change.
Our Design Specialist, Victor Tapia, suggested installing our SaniDry Dehumidifier to eliminate these issues. This system not only provides a dry environment, but also drains automatically, as well as removes mold spores and other irritants and allergens.
