A homeowner in Acton, Massachusetts noticed bouncy and unlevel floors in her home. Looking to get them redone, she first wanted to ensure that she had stable floors. She had temporary jacks in her basement in order to support the above floor, but was in search of a more permanent solution.
Our Design Specialist, George Gouthier, recommended installing SmartJacks in the basement to support and stabilize the home. These SmartJacks, similar to Lally columns, offer superior support and are adjustable if settling occurs in the future. Once installed, the SmartJacks are raised to level the floor, providing permanent stability.
The homeowner can now redo her floors with confidence!

This home in Westford, MA had a large horizontal crack in it's cinderblock foundation wall. As the wall began to increasingly buckle and lean inwards, the homeowner decided to seek a solution before the problem got worse.
Our team proposed and installed PowerBrace steel brackets to permanently stabilize the bowing wall. This before and after gallery highlights the PowerBrace system, which will prevent the foundation wall from leaning in any further. The wall anchors can also be tightened to help straighten the wall under certain conditions as well.
A homeowner in Natick, Massachusetts, lived in the home that her parents had built in 1989. Around 2009 they redid the basement bathroom and the company who did the work noticed there was a void under the slab. They paid a company to come out and fill the void with cement. Now over a decade later, the problem has only gotten worse and the homeowners are looking to find a permanent solution. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their foundation. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and talked about their experience with this issue and what their goals were. After learning about the issue Mark looked at the foundation and found that the foundation had settled and a section of the concrete had cracked. Mark designed a solution for the homeowners which included installing 18 Push Piers, 80 feet of NexusPro Crack Repair, and PolyLevel.
