A homeowner in Salem, New Hampshire, has lived in this home since 1992. The home was built in 1945 and has a cinderblock foundation that constantly floods during rainstorms. This year the homeowner went on vacation a short drive away from Salem. During their vacation, a rainstorm flooded the basement, and they had to return early to remove the water. The homeowner sees this home as their forever home because they are close to their family and grandchildren so they plan to stay here and repair any current issues. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their basement and we recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system into the basement to collect any water that entered the basement and pump it out.
A homeowner in Salem, New Hampshire has encountered water intrusion in their garage, with up to three inches accumulating on the floor, jeopardizing stored items. In search of a lasting solution to keep the garage dry, they contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our System Design Specialist recommended the installation of WaterGuard perimeter drainage and a TripleSafe sump pump. WaterGuard has been installed around the garage's perimeter to collect water and channel it to the sump pump basin. The water, once collected in the sump basin, is expelled through an exterior discharge line. To prevent freezing and subsequent backups that could lead to flooding, IceGuard was added to the discharge line. This new waterproofing system takes the place of an older sump pump that failed to capture water effectively. The TripleSafe sump pump system features three pumps: a primary, a secondary, and a battery-operated backup pump, ensuring continuous operation and water removal, even during power outages.
The homeowner can now rest assured that their personal belongings are secure, and the concern over the tedious cleanup process is eliminated.

A family home in Somerville, Massachusetts, had water frequently entering their basement. The owners of the home reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their basement. A homeowner in Somerville, Massachusetts had water coming in through her basement entrance. Heavy rains would cause water to spread throughout the basement floor, which created a very annoying cleanup process. While also wanting to use the basement for storage, this homeowner reached out to us to make sure her basement would stay dry.
One of our Design Specialists came out to inspect the home and recommend a permanent waterproofing solution. This waterproofing solution we recommended is composed of our UltraSump sump pump and TrenchDrain surface drainage system. This waterproofing system works by collecting water through our TrenchDrain system, and then filtering it to the sump pump. The sump pump then pumps the water out of the home. Our installation crew chipped out concrete to make space for the drainage system and pump. Once the space for drainage and basin were made, we laid the two systems into place. The TrenchDrain system was connected to the sump pump, and then cemented into place. An exterior discharge line was then connected to the sump pump. On that discharge line, IceGuard was installed. This is a mechanism that allows water to still flow freely despite freezing temperatures. This guarantees the pipes will not freeze, further ensuring that the basement will remain dry.
With everything completed, a waterproofed basement has been created. The homeowner can now have peace of mind that her basement will permanently stay dry.
