Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Grappling with leakages that turned their comfortable space into a waterlogged mess, they reached out to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions for a fix. We pride ourselves on turning over your dilemmas into success stories, and this one was no different. Following a call to our dedicated Customer Care team, we arranged for a detailed inspection by one of our seasoned System Design Specialists.

Venturing into the heart of the problem, our specialist, Anthony Brancato, proposed a trio of solutions: our WaterGuard drainage system, the TripleSafe Sump Pump, and the IceGuard system, designed specifically to adopt and overcome the homeowner’s woes. Our WaterGuard system fits snugly at the base of the basement walls, discreetly collecting any water trying to seep in and diverting it away. Meanwhile, the TripleSafe Sump Pump stands ready to handle even the heaviest of flooding, equipped with multiple pumps and a battery backup to ensure the basement stays dry, no matter the weather. The transformation was remarkable. Our prompt and efficient Installation team got to work, integrating this dependable system into the homeowner's basement, offering them peace of mind and reinstating the comfort of their home. Clean-up was executed to precision, leaving no trace but the assurance of a waterproof basement.

Finished Basement Waterproofing in Stratham, NH

For homeowners in Stratham, NH, discovering their newly finished basement had suffered extensive water damage hit hard. The dream of a cozy, functional basement space seemed washed away with every instance of heavy rain. Fortunately, they turned to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions for help, marking the beginning of transforming their downside back into the dry, inviting basement it was meant to be.

The process started with a call to our attentive Customer Care team, who quickly scheduled an inspection. Our System Design Specialist, Anthony Brancato, conducted a thorough walk-through, identifying the critical issues causing the water intrusion. The proposed plan to permanently address these problems included the installation of a game-changing trio: WaterGuard, a reliably engineered interior drainage system designed to catch wall and floor seam water leakage; the TripleSafe Sump Pump, known for its fail-safe operation, especially during heavy rains; and the IceGuard system, which ensures that water discharge is possible even in the freezing cold winters known too well by New Hampshire residents. Our dedicated installation team got straight to work, integrating these solutions seamlessly into the homeowner's basement. The WaterGuard system was installed efficiently along the interior perimeter, effectively capturing any water before it reached the basement floor. At the heart of this solution was the TripleSafe Sump Pump, set up to expeditiously pump out any water collected by the WaterGuard. And, of course, the addition of IceGuard assured that these newfound dry conditions would endure through the winter months without the hassle of frozen discharge lines.

The outcome? A completely transformed basement, ready to be enjoyed year-round, regardless of the weather. For the homeowners in Stratham, NH, the nightmare of a water-logged basement is now behind them, thanks to the durable and thoughtful solutions provided by Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Finished Basement Water Damage in Stratham, NH

Recently, a Stratham, NH homeowner faced the nightmare of a flooded basement after their old sump pump malfunctioned, devastating their beautifully finished space. The water damage not only ruined valuable belongings but also posed a risk of mold and structural issues. Realizing the need for a waterproofing solution that could prevent future disaster, they reached out to us, Erickson Foundation Solutions.

During our highly detailed home inspection, our System Design Specialist, Matthew Robichaud, discovered that not only was the sump pump inadequate, but the basement also lacked an effective drainage system to properly manage water intrusion. We suggested a customization of our exclusive products: installing WaterGuard for efficient interior drainage, a TripleSafe Sump Pump that features three levels of protection, and an IceGuard attachment to prevent any chance of freezing in the cold New Hampshire winters. Our experienced installation team got to work, executing the plan with precision. The WaterGuard system was trenchlessly installed along the basement's perimeter to capture wall and floor seam water leakage without requiring excessive foundation excavation. Then, we replaced the failed sump pump with the TripleSafe system, guaranteeing triple the protection with its backup units and battery-operated pump to work flawlessly during heavy rainstorms or power outages. IceGuard was installed outside, ensuring that even in freezing temperatures, water would be diverted away from the house. After the installation, the overwhelming relief from the homeowner was palpable. No longer fretting over looming rainstorms, they could once again enjoy their basement, confident in the reliability of our waterproofing system. Our solution provided enduring peace of mind and reassurance that their basement would remain dry, safe, and comfortable. Another homeowner protected, another basement restored – just a regular day's work for our team at Erickson Foundation Solutions.

High Radon Levels, Stratham, NH

A homeowner in Stratham, New Hampshire, purchased their home in 2005. After living in the house for about 18 years, they watched TV one night and saw a commercial about the radon gas inside your home. This commercial resonated with the homeowners and they began to worry about the potential of having a harmful gas inside their home. The homeowners did some research on the effects of radon and decided to call EFS for us to come and test their home. Our Design Specialist dropped a radon test kit at the home and then waited 48 hours for the test to be complete before returning to the house and going over the results with the homeowner. Bryan met with the homeowners and showed them the results of the test averaged around 15 pCi/L, he then recommended and designed a radon mitigation system for their home.

Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards began by creating 2 extraction points in the basement. The reason we did two extraction points instead of just one is because of the levels averaging around 15 pCi/L. If we had just done one extraction point we run the risk of not being able to lower the radon to below 4.0 pCi/L. After the extraction points were made the team then fit PVC pipe to them and then fed them to the exterior of the home. Once to the exterior of the home, the team then installed the radon fan to the exterior of the home. We then connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the system above the roofline.

With the system installed and running the home was retested a few weeks after installation to determine the effectiveness of the system. When retested the radon levels were below 4.0 pCi/L and this made the homeowner feel very relieved.

Fixing Foundation Concerns Before Selling the Home, Stratham, NH

This homeowner in Stratham, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since 2000. After almost 20 years of living there, they are planning on selling the home in the next couple of years. To prepare for the day that they sell the home they were repairing things around the home. Since they purchased the home in 2000 they noticed a crack in the foundation wall. Over the past 20+ years, the crack has gotten larger so the homeowner would like to have it repaired before they put the home onto the market. To have the problem looked at the homeowner called EFS for a free inspection of the basement. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowners and inspected the basement. During his inspection, Jason looked at the crack thoroughly and found that the foundation wall was bowing. Jason thinks that the bowing of the wall could have caused the crack to form and grow over the years. He recommended sealing the crack with FlexiSpan and then stabilizing the foundation wall with 5 PowerBraces.

Our Installation Team led by Edward N. began by installing our L Brackets to the base of the foundation wall. While those were being installed another member of the team was installing the FlexiSpan over the crack on the foundation wall. After the L Brackets and FlexiSpan were installed we then continued installing the rest of the PowerBrace. We installed our galvanized steel supports between the L Bracket and the wall. The bracket will be used as leverage to straighten the wall. Lastly, the team needed to install the top bracket into the floor system. This will allow us to tighten the PowerBrace to start the straightening process. After the PowerBraces were all installed the team then tightened each of them to stabilize and straighten the wall.

The homeowners were very fortunate to call EFS and have us look at their homes. If they hadn't they could've left that wall unstabilized, which could have led to a wall failure in the future.

Newer Home Has Cracking In Their Foundation, Statham, NH

A homeowner in Stratham, New Hampshire, was the first owner of the home built in 2018. 4 years later the homeowner found some cracking in their foundation wall. The homeowner wanted to make sure the young home was protected. The homeowner also planned to finish the basement soon but wanted to make sure the foundation was secure before doing so. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing 8 PowerBraces again the cracking 4-foot foundation wall in the basement.

Our production team began by installing L Brackets near the base of the foundation wall. The team used large concrete screws to anchor the L brackets in place. After the brackets were installed the team began installing the top brackets. The top brackets were installed in between the floor joist. The brackets tighten from the top and the homeowner can tighten the brackets over time to straighten the wall. Each PowerBrace was installed and tightened to stabilize the wall.

The homeowner was happy that they no longer have to worry about their foundation wall. They can now plan to finish their basement.

Amanda O. of Stratham, New Hampshire, had been living in her home for 4 months and noticed some cracks in the basement. Design Specialist David Cormier came to the home and inspected the cracks as well as the rest of the basement walls. David found 3 cracks: 2 were small and didn't seem like they were leaking, and 1 bigger one that looked like it had leaked.  Along with the cracks, David also found telltale signs of settlement in the foundation. David proposed that we seal the cracks with Crack Seal and that we address the settlement. Amanda wanted to focus on the cracks at the moment but might address the settlement later.

Crew Lead Nick Carelli came to the home and installed Crack Seal on all of the cracks so that they wouldn't lead to any leaking issues downt he road. Amanda was happy that the cracks were sealed quickly, and with the knowledge of settlement being a possible issue, may revisit with our Erickson team again.
