Sump Pump Replacement, Nashua, NH Sump Pump Replacement, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire has lived in his home for over 40 years. Several years ago, he noticed that his basement would leak. In order to fix this, he had a sump pump installed. This pump isn't working as it was intended to, resulting in the basement flooding. Looking for a permanent solution keep his basement dry; he reached out to our Erickson team.

Our Design Specialist, John Prince, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, SuperSump sump pump, and FlexiSpan crack sealant. Our crew started installing this waterproofing system by chipping our concrete along the border of the basement floor to make space for the WaterGuard drainage. This system captures water at the perimeter of the basement before being exposed to the walls or floor. The water collected then flows to our SuperSump sump pump. A new basin was created for the sump pump to sit in since the previous basin was not in the ideal spot. A feed line was installed connecting the old basin to the new basin in order to allow the new sump system to pump out the unwanted water. Once these systems were installed, they were cemented in place. An exterior discharge line was then installed to the sump pump to direct water safely out of the home. IceGuard was installed to the discharge line to prevent the pipe from freezing, which prevents sump pumps from backing up and flooding. Lastly, FlexiSpan crack sealant was used to seal a large crack in the basement wall. This sealant stops water from making its way through the crack, and is able to adjust to settlement, making it a long-lasting solution.

With the job now complete, crew lead Ryan Champagne went over a final walkthrough with the homeowner. He was thrilled that he would never have to deal with the annoying cleanup process again!

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire had a crack running along their foundation wall. Typically, a crack like this can worsen over time if left untreated. Eventually, this could cause the basement wall to lean and bow, and even potentially collapse. Concerned about the safety of her home, this homeowner reached out to us for a permanent solution.

Our Design Specialist recommended installing PowerBrace, a foundation wall repair system. This system supports and stabilizes bowing and leaning walls, and can even straighten them. Additionally, FlexiSpan, a polyurethane sealant, was installed to seal the crack. This material adjusts to movements in the basement wall and prevents water from making its way through the crack.

With this system in place, the home is now properly supported, and the wall has been stabilized. This homeowner now has peace of mind that her forever home is safe.

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire had been experiencing leaks in her basement. One area that the homeowner was particularly concerned about was the water heater. Looking for a way to keep the basement permanently dry, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Our Design Specialist, John Prince, conducted a free inspection of the home. After discussion with the homeowner, John recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, and TripleSafe sump pump system. This system captures water at the perimeter of the basement and delivers it to the sump pump, where it is then pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. When there are areas where WaterGuard is inaccessible, TrenchDrain is installed to continue the flow of water to the sump pump. The TrenchDrain system connects to the WaterGuard system, as can be seen in the after photo.

Once all these systems are installed, they are cemented in place. This homeowner now has peace of mind that her basement will stay dry!

Finished Basement Waterproofing in Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, NH, faced a homeowner's headache when their finished basement started leaking, threatening the comfort and safety of their cherished living space. Dealing with water ingress can not only damage property but also lead to major concerns over mold and structural integrity. Understandably, they reached out to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions, seeking a remedy to safeguard their home and restore their peace of mind.

In response to their call, our Customer Care team sprang into action, scheduling an in-depth home inspection. Upon examination by our seasoned System Design Specialist John Prince, it became clear that the situation required a robust, long-term solution to prevent any future water troubles. The suggested blueprint for tranquility included the installation of our cutting-edge WaterGuard interior drainage system, paired with the dependable TripleSafe Sump Pump for effective water evacuation, and completed with an IceGuard discharge line system to prevent freezing during the chilly months. This trio was meticulously chosen to address the specific challenges the homeowner faced, guaranteeing an efficient runoff management system that shields the basement from unwanted moisture. Our skilled production team, consisting of astute foreman Neal Foley and dedicated installers, smoothly executed the installation, employing their decisiveness and attention to detail. Throughout the project, we ensured the homeowner was kept in the loop, making the somewhat intricate ordeal as smooth and understandable as possible. Besides solving the immediate leakage issue, our solution entailed preparing the basement to withstand potential future calamities, ensuring the homeowner could enjoy their basement, leak-free and with a renewed sense of security.

Reflecting on the project, the homeowner's satisfaction was palpable. The homeowner was not just relieved that their problem was rectified, but reassured by the craftsmanship and consideration from our team across all stages.

Egress Window in Finished Basement in Nashua, NH

Not long ago, we had the opportunity to help a homeowner in Nashua, NH, who was confronting a classic yet stressful concern. They loved their finished basement, but unfortunately, they started noticing signs of seepage. Water in a basement is never a good sign, and it can turn a cozy living space into a damp, unusable area pretty fast.

After reaching out to our Customer Care team, we set up a time to inspect their home thoroughly. Our System Design Specialist Peter Carstean visited their house, examined the signs of water intrusion, and recommended a full-proof solution to keep their basement dry and more inviting than ever. To solve their seepage woes, we decided to install our WaterGuard system alongside our trustworthy TripleSafe Sump Pump to ensure water could be effectively collected and redirected away from the home, no matter the volume or severity of the storm. Another critical component of our remedy was the IceGuard system, a distinctive feature that ensures sump pump discharge lines don't freeze during those cold, snowy months. This threefold approach guaranteed their basement would remain dry year-round. But we didn’t stop there. To enhance their basement's living space further and address safety concerns, we installed an egress window topped with a RockWell window well. This not only allows for a safe exit in case of emergencies but also invites much-needed natural light into the basement, transforming it into a brighter, more welcoming part of their home.

Once our production team rolled up the sleeves and got to work, they efficiently implemented the solutions, keeping disruption to a minimum. Every step of the way was handled with care and attention to detail, reflecting our commitment to providing a remarkable customer experience.

Concrete Walkway Repair in Nashua, NH

We recently had the pleasure of helping a homeowner in Nashua, NH, who was struggling with a pretty common yet often overlooked problem – trip hazards on their walkway caused by uneven concrete slabs. It's the kind of safety concern that many homeowners might not know how to address efficiently. The last thing anyone wants is for a simple walk outside to result in accidents or injuries. So, when they reached out to us, we were eager to turn their worries into relief.

Our journey to fixing this issue began with our Customer Care team setting up an inspection visit. Our experienced System Design Specialist Matthew Robichaud then thoroughly inspected the walkway. True to form, it wasn't just about identifying the problem areas but understanding the underlying cause. After diagnosing the issue, we presented the homeowner with a tailored solution – not a one-size-fits-all fix but a plan thought out specifically for their needs. Our solution involved using PolyLevel injection and NexusPro joint sealant – chosen for their effectiveness and durability. The innovative PolyLevel technology allowed us to lift the slabs back to their original level position, eliminating the trip hazards that plagued the homeowner. Following this, we used NexusPro to seal the cracks and joints, ensuring the problem wouldn't reoccur and guaranteeing a longer-lasting repair compared to traditional methods. The work was carried out with minimal disruption to the homeowner's daily life. Our team worked meticulously, ensuring every step was conducted with the utmost care and attention to detail, and we cleaned up thoroughly before we left.

Garage Waterproofing in Nashua, NH

Recently, we had the opportunity to help a homeowner in Nashua, NH, who was grappling with a really frustrating issue: water was flowing into their garage during heavy rains. Understandably, this was not just an inconvenience; it risked damaging property and made the space unusable during bad weather.

After the homeowner reached out to us, our Customer Care team quickly set up an inspection appointment. Matthew Robichaud, our System Design Specialist, visited the home, took a thorough look at the situation, and identified the best course of action to tackle the problem for good. We decided that a combination of our reliable WaterGuard system, the robust TripleSafe Sump Pump, and IceGuard for added protection against freezing conditions were exactly what this enviable garage needed to stay dry. These products together create a formidable defense system against water intrusion, directing water away efficiently and quietly without disturbing the charm of the home. Once the plan was set, our skilled production team got to work. They carefully installed WaterGuard around the entrance and inner perimeter of the garage to capture any aspiring intruders (read: water). Next, they placed the TripleSafe Sump Pump to unceremoniously escort the collected water out and away from the premises. Completing the trifecta, the IceGuard was installed, ensuring that even during those frigid Nashua winters, the system would continue to operate flawlessly.

As always, our team cleaned up after themselves, leaving no trace of construction chaos, only a lasting solution. No more did heavy rains pose a threat, and the garage returned to being a secure, dry space for the homeowner's use.

Filling Voids Underneath the Basement and Crack Sealing in Nashua, NH

Out in Nashua, NH, we recently had the pleasure of helping a homeowner who was tired of battling mosquitos making their way into the basement through cracks and voids. It was evident they needed a durable solution that not only addressed the immediate concerns but also provided long-lasting relief.

After contacting our Customer Care team, a prompt visit was scheduled with one of our System Design Specialists, Victor Tapia. Upon inspection, Victor diagnosed the problem areas and laid out a plan that would not just fill the voids and seal the cracks but also prevent future infiltrations. The solution? Our team recommended using PolyLevel, a high-strength, polyurethane foam designed to lift and stabilize sinking concrete, and NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks. This combination not only seals off entry points for pests but also corrects the underlying issue of shifting soil that causes these voids in the first place. Our production crew, equipped with the best tools and an eye for detail, executed the job. They injected PolyLevel strategically to raise and support the concrete, ensuring stability and eliminating voids. Following this, NexusPro was applied to seal off all the cracks and joints, creating a seamless finish. It was crucial for us to work efficiently, causing minimal disruption to the homeowner's daily life.

Upon completion, the once problematic basement was now fortified against unwelcome guests, and the homeowner could finally enjoy a mosquito-free environment. Proactively Waterproofing a Basement, Nashua, NH

Sanjay G. of Nashua, New Hampshire had recently started experiencing leaks in the unfinished part of the basement. After living in the home for 7 years, this problem first happened last month and had occurred 5 times since then. Rather than ignoring the problem, Sanjay wanted to be proactive and fix it before potentially causing damage to the finished basement.

After reaching out to our Customer Care team, an appointment was set up for a Design Specialist to inspect Sanjay's home. Josh Phillips completed the inspection and provided solutions to waterproof the basement. He recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and a TripleSafe sump pump. This waterproofing system intercepts water before making its way into the basement, filtering it to the sump pump, and then getting safely removed from the home through an exterior drainage line. Our installation crew started installing this system by chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the foundation. After digging out space, crushed stone and is laid down, with the WaterGuard system being placed on top. A basin is then created for the sump pump to sit in the foundation. The WaterGuard drainage is connected to the sump pump and then cemented in place. An exterior drainage line is connected to the sump pump with IceGuard attached. The IceGuard system prevents the exterior drainage line from freezing, allowing water to keep pumping out of the house.

With everything installed, the basement is now waterproofed. Sanjay can have peace of mind that the basement is safe and will remain dry.

SmartJack Floor Stabilization

Teodoro A. of Nashua, New Hampshire had been experiencing a sinking floor on the first floor of his home. Having concerns that the problem could become worse and create further and more expensive issues, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to provide permanent stabilization to the home.

After calling our Customer Care team, an appointment for our Design Specialist, Bryan Barnard, was scheduled to conduct a free inspection of Teodoro's home. After completion of the inspection, Bryan recommended installing 9 SmartJacks into the basement foundation. These SmartJacks are similar to Lally columns, however, offer more support to the home and can be adjusted if needed. Our installation crew chipped up the areas of concrete where the SmartJacks would be installed. After the areas were dug out, they laid crush stone in them to provide a sturdy base. Galvanized steel plates were placed on top of the stone. Supplemental support beams were then installed along the basement ceiling. The steel beams were then installed to the plates and connected to the support beams. Once everything was installed, the system was cemented in place.

Out crew made sure the job site was neat and tidy. They did a final walkthrough with the homeowners to ensure the work done met their expectations. Teodoro was thrilled that his sinking floors were fixed, and that the foundation of his home was now giving the proper support to the entire house.

Waterproofing Basement In Preparation to Sell House, Nahua, NH

Bill W. was concerned about water in his mother's basement. She is 89 years old and has been living in the home for 46 years. Recently, the basement has started to leak more frequently. Bill wanted to be proactive and get ahead of the wet basement issues before problems worsen and costs become more expensive. This would make selling the house in the near future a much simpler process.

In order to find the best waterproofing option for Bill and his mother, we had one of our Design Specialists come out to the home to conduct a free inspection. Our Design Specialist went over some options with the family and concluded that installing our TripleSafe and WaterGuard technology was the best solution. Our installation crew, led by foreman Nick Melo, started by making space around the perimeter of the basement for WaterGuard, our perimeter drainage system. Once this space in the foundation was dug out, crushed stone and the WaterGuard system was put in place. Next, a basin for our TripleSafe sump pump was created at the lowest point of the basement. This allows water captures by our WaterGuard system to drain into the pump. With the TripleSafe in place, interior and exterior drainage lines were then added to the sump pump to allow water to be disposed safely out of the home. Our IceGuard system was then attached to the exterior drainage line, which prevents frozen pipes, further guaranteeing that the basement won't flood.
With these systems in place, Bill's mother now has peace of mind knowing that she will always have a dry basement.

Finished Basement Waterproofing, Nashua, NH

Sonya and Arthur are homeowners in Nahua, New Hampshire who have been experiencing water in their basement for a few years now. Recently, their foundation has been leaking more often and puddles have gotten worse. As a result, this family has had to limit the personal belongings they can have in their basement. They are looking to once again have a finished basement without worry of items getting damaged. That is why they reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team to create a permanent solution.
Our Design Specialist Anthony Brancato conducted a home inspection to create this solution for Sonya and Arthur. After concluding the inspection, he recommended installing WaterGuard, our patented perimeter drainage system, along the wall where the leaks had been coming from. These homeowners already had a sump pump, but that alone was not enough to prevent the water from seeping through. Our installation crew chipped away at the perimeter of the basement concrete, allowing space to lay down the WaterGuard system. After inserting crushed stone, the WaterGuard system is set in place and leads to the sump pump. The system is then cemented into place. We also installed a new drainage line to discard water safely away from the home.

With this waterproofing system in place, this family can now finish their basement with confidence that their investment will be protected.

Waterproofing a Leaky and Humid Basement, Nashua, NH

LLoyd S., a homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had been experiencing leaks in his basement. With the basement constantly being damp and full of moisture, Lloyd was concerned that his utilities would be ruined. In order to prevent this, Lloyd came to us for a solution.

After he talked to our team, Peter Carstean, one of our Design Specialists, recommended installing our CleanSpace wall system, TripleSafe sump pump, and SaniDry Sedona. CleanSpace acts as a crawl space encapsulation system, which eliminates condensation, mold and wood rot, and insects and critters. The TripleSafe system collects water around the perimeter of the inside basement and pumps the unwanted water away safely outside of your home. The SaniDry Sedona is a powerful dehumidifier that provides a comfortable climate of the space and drains automatically.

After our technicians installed these products, Lloyd was very happy with the result. This strong combination of products waterproofs the basement and creates excellent air quality. Now, Lloyd can have peace of mind that his utilities and personal belongings are protected.

High Radon Levels, Hudson, NH

A resident in Nashua, New Hampshire has been living in their house for almost a decade. Recently, their daughter tested her own home for radon water and had to install a radon system. This prompted the homeowner to test their own home for radon levels and the results showed an average of 30 pCi/L, which is considered high. As a result, they contacted EFS to have their home inspected and to design a radon mitigation system. Our Design Specialist, Nikki Burke, met with the homeowner and designed a system that had two extraction points to reduce the levels of radon inside the home.

Our installation team created two extraction points and connected them with a radon pipe that was fed to the exterior of the house. On the outside of the house, we installed a radon fan and additional radon piping to draw radon from beneath the house and vent it above the house, preventing it from re-entering the house.

Once the system was fully installed, we showed the homeowner the system and provided them with a charcoal radon test kit to verify that the levels had been lowered after the system had been running for about a week.

Geolock Installation, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire had purchased their house 15 years ago. Over the years, they noticed some cracks in the foundation wall of their garage. They wanted to finish their basement but were worried that the foundation wall could collapse. They contacted EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Peter Carstean, met with the homeowner and examined the cracks inside the garage. Peter determined that the cracks were caused by the foundation wall moving and recommended installing 5 Geolocks to stabilize it and 3 FlexiSpans to seal the cracks in the foundation.

Our installation team began by digging a trench in the yard, 10 feet from the foundation, running parallel to it for installing our Geolocks. The team marked out 5 spots on the foundation wall where they would install each anchor. Then, they drilled a small hole through the foundation and passed a threaded rod through the foundation, soil, and into the trench in the yard. After that, they attached a Geolock Anchor to either side of the rod and tightened each end to stabilize the foundation wall slowly. The system used leverage from the soil to stabilize and straighten the foundation wall. After tightening the Geolocks, the team installed the FlexiSpans over the cracks in the wall.

Once the project was complete, the team cleaned up the job site before doing a final walkthrough with the homeowner to show them what was installed. The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.

Concerns with Radon Inside their Home, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire bought their house three years ago. They tested their home for radon and the levels were found to be around 8.1 pCi/L, which was higher than the recommended amount of 4.0 pCi/L. As a result, the homeowners contacted EFS to request a free inspection of their basement to determine if they could install a radon mitigation system to lower the radon levels.

Our Design Specialist, Victor Tapia, met with the homeowner and inspected the basement. After examining the basement, Victor recommended installing a radon mitigation system with a single extraction point.

Our installation team, led by Steve Dumais, started the installation process by using a core drill to create an extraction point. They then installed a 3" PVC pipe from the extraction point and connected it to the exterior of the home. On the exterior of the home, we installed our Radon Fan and secured the PVC pipe to the fan. After securing the radon pipe, we vented the system above the roofline of the home to ensure that radon air cannot re-enter the home.

After the system was installed and operational, a radon test was left in the basement to ensure that the levels were brought down below the recommended 4.0 pCi/L. The homeowners were very satisfied with the results of the project and stated that they would contact EFS for any future foundation, waterproofing, or concrete stabilization concerns.

Stop Water From Seeping in Finished Basement, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for a little over a year. Almost every time it rains the homeowner sees water in their basement. They were worried that the water could seep over to the finished side of their basement. They called EFS for a free inspection of their basement so they could find a way to prevent water from seeping over to the finished side of the basement. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowner and did just that. Jason recommended installing our TripleSafe Sump Pump with 36 feet of WaterGuard/ TrenchDrain and 2 IceGuard with 75 feet of Exterior Drainage Line.

Our installation team led by Gunther Billhardt began by chipping concrete along the foundation wall where water was entering the basement. Once the concrete was chipped out the team removed enough dirt so we could install our perimeter drainage and sump pump. We connected the drainage to the sump pump basin so water that collects in the perimeter drainage will be guided to the sump pump basin. Next, the team plumbed the sump pump to the home's exterior where we installed 2 IceGuards and 75 feet of buried exterior drainage. The EDL will carry water far from the foundation so water cannot re-enter the perimeter drainage system. After the drainage was installed and buried, we mixed up concrete, covered the WaterGuard, and poured concrete around the sump pump basin to lock everything into place. After the concrete had cured the team showed the homeowner the system. They were very happy with the installation of our perimeter drainage system and no longer have to worry about water seeping into the finished portion of their basement.

Keep Basement Dry, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire purchased their home five years ago, and two years ago, during winter, they noticed water seeping into the basement. They cleaned up the water twice, but they wanted to find a permanent solution to prevent water from entering. The homeowners wanted to convert a section of their basement into a TV room or album collection room, but they couldn't do that if water was still entering the basement. So they contacted EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Bryan Barnard, met with the homeowner and examined the basement to find a solution to prevent water from entering. Bryan recommended installing our TripleSafe Sump Pump, two IceGuards, 30 feet of buried exterior drainage line, and FlexiSpan into the basement to protect the basement from water.

Our installation team, led by Gunther Billhardt, started by chipping out concrete to install the basin for the sump pump. The sump pump has a large basin to accommodate our three pumps, so we had to remove 24 inches of dirt. This allowed the pump cover to lay flush with the basement slab. Our team installed the pumps into the basin and then plumbed the pumps to the exterior of the home. Once outside of the home, we installed our two IceGuards and 30 feet of exterior drainage line. After the sump pump and drainage lines were installed and buried, we mixed up concrete and poured it around the basin to lock it into place.

Next, the team began installing our FlexiSpan over the crack in the foundation wall. We first covered the crack with the FlexiSpan membrane to prevent water from seeping through the wall and into the basement. We then covered the membrane with a thick adhesive that set hard like concrete. Where the crack meets the floor, our team chipped out a small section of concrete so we could install some drainage. This drain will allow water to flow underneath the home so water cannot enter the basement. After the drain was in place, the team poured concrete around the drain, and the project was complete.

The homeowners were very satisfied with the results of the project. They could now make their basement into a TV room or album collection room without worrying about water entering the basement.

Wet Basement Repair, Nashua, NH

A Nashua homeowner recently purchased a house needing major renovations, such as adding a 2nd floor, replacing the roof, and installing a new basement entrance. But during the renovation process, the contractor noticed water seeping through the cold joints in the basement, and recommended a free basement inspection from EFS. The homeowner contacted EFS, and our Design Specialist, Josh Phillips, inspected the basement to find a solution. After the inspection, Josh recommended a waterproofing system that includes perimeter drainage, a sump pump, and a dehumidifier to mitigate the water issue.

Our Installation Team, led by Gunther Billhardt, began the process by chipping out the concrete where water was seeping in. We removed any debris and installed WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, and TripleSafe. We placed 42 feet of WaterGuard against the foundation wall to collect any water from the floor or wall. For immovable objects like the heating system and basement door, we used TrenchDrain to go around them. TripleSafe was installed to collect all water from the perimeter drainage. The team installed 2 IceGuard and a 10-foot buried exterior drainage line to ensure that the water was pumped out and away from the foundation. After installing the drainage line, we mixed concrete to cover the perimeter drainage and sump pump inside the basement to lock everything in place. Finally, we installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier next to the TripleSafe to lower the humidity inside the basement and discharge the moisture into the sump basin.

The installed system is highly effective in preventing water from entering and collecting inside the basement, providing a long-lasting solution to the homeowner's problem.

Water Proofing Concerns in Forever Home, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in this home for over 40 years and plans to spend the rest of their life here. Years ago they noticed water entering the basement and garage. Since the home is a split level these two areas are at the same level. The homeowners wanted to make sure they repaired this so they don't have to deal with water down there in the future. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Josh Phillips met with the homeowners and inspected the basement/garage. He inspected the downstairs of the split level and recommended a solution to collect and remove water from the basement and garage.

Josh's solution was to install 2 TripleSafe, 54' of WaterGuard, 4 IceGuards, 30' of Exterior Drainage, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to protect the home from water seepage and moisture in the garage and basement.

Our installation team, led by Abdou Taal, began by chipping out concrete in the basement and garage to install our drainage and sump pumps. Once that was done, the team installed our perimeter drainage and sump pumps into both the garage and basement. After that, they plumbed both the pumps to the exterior of the home where we installed our IceGuard system to prevent water from backing up in case of a blocked drainage line. Connected to that system is our Exterior Drainage Line which will carry the water away from the foundation of the home. After burying the drainage line out behind the home, the team returned to cover the perimeter drainage and around the sump pumps with concrete to lock them into place. Lastly, we installed the Sanidry Sedona Dehumidifier next to our sump pump in the basement to control the moisture levels.

The homeowners were delighted with the outcome of the project. They no longer have to worry about water coming into their forever home's garage and basement.

Installing Radon Mitigation System, Nashua, NH

This homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, lives in a home that was built in 1973. These homeowners purchased the home in May 2023 and had the home tested for radon during the sale. The results of the test came back over 10 pCi/L, which is high. The way the home is laid out their son's room is in the basement. After living in the home for a couple of months they looked at the harmful effects of long-term exposure to radon gases. The effects shocked the homeowners and they decided to call EFS for another radon test in their home so we could propose the correct solution to lower the radon levels inside the home to below 4.0 pCi/L. Our Design Specialist Josh Phillips met with the homeowners after our radon test came back with results that averaged 11.3 pCi/l. With a number over 10 pCi/L, Josh recommended installing a radon mitigation system that has two extraction points to collect the most amount of radon from beneath the home as possible.

Our production team led by Branden Edwards, began by creating the two extraction points in the slab of the basement. This will allow us to connect the PVC pipe to the extraction points and guide the PVC to the exterior of the home. On the outside of the home, the team installed our radon fan to the home and then connected the PVC pipe to the fan. After the PVC was secured to the fan the team then used additional PVC pipe to vent the entire system above the roofline of the home.

After everything was installed the team tested the system and verified that everything was working. The team then met with the homeowner and explained to them that they should let the system run for over a week before re-testing the home.

Upgrading From Temporary Supports to SmartJacks in Basement, Nashua, NH

The original owner of a home in Nashua, New Hampshire, had temporary posts in their basement. The temp posts have been in their basement for years and the homeowner was planning on finishing their basement. They wanted to have the supports looked at before going and finishing the basement. They decided to call EFS and receive a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez met with the homeowner and inspected the basement and the temporary supports. After the conclusion of Isaac's inspection, he recommended replacing the old temporary supports with 6 SmartJacks to support the floors and have them anchored to the slab and the floor system.

Our Installation Team led by Eric Witham began by chipping out small sections of the basement slab so we could install our big plate footings for our SmartJacks. Once the footings were leveled and installed, the team then measured and cut our galvanized steel supports so they would fit under the beam. After they were cut the team then connected the supports to the footing and installed the adjustable top bracket so they could secure them to the main beam. After everything was installed the team then mixed up concrete and poured it over the footing to lock them into place.

Concrete Slab Sinking, Nashua, New Hampshire

The town of Nashua, New Hampshire, had reached out to EFS about repairing a utility slab at one of their parks in town. One side of the slab has sunken down a couple of inches and the dirt is now covering two corners of the slab. The town would like EFS to lift the slab using our structural foam. Our Design Specialist John recommended using PolyLevel to lift the slab.

Our Installation Team began by pulling away the dirt that had come over the corners of the concrete slab. The team then used slab jacks to prop up the slab so we could spray PolyLevel beneath. The team sprayed PolyLevel beneath half of the slab and made sure the slab was level before they left.

The town of Nashua was very pleased with the results.

CleanSpace and Radon Mitigation System Installed, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had lived in their home since 2007. Recently they have become worried about the radon levels in their home. When they tested their home for radon the test results came back at an average of 9 pCi/L. The recommended amount for radon is for it to be below 4.0 pCi/L so the homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Josh inspected the home and asked the homeowner some questions about their home. One question Josh asked is if they had a crawlspace and if they have any concerns with it. The homeowner did have a crawlspace and a basement but they say the crawlspace smells. Josh recommended installing a Radon Mitigation System to lower the radon levels but also installing CleanSpace to encapsulate the crawlspace and get rid of the smell.

Our installation team began by installing the Radon System. They first made an extraction point in the slab in the basement and fed PVC pipe to the exterior of the home where they installed the radon fan to the side of the home. Once the PVC pipe and the radon fan were connected the team then used more PVC pipe to vent the system above the roofline of the home. Next, the team began installing CleanSpace into the crawlspace. The team laid 811 sqft of CleanSpace on the floors and walls of the crawlspace to protect the crawlspace from moisture coming up from the ground. The moisture was causing the crawlspace to smell and this crawlspace encapsulation will prevent any moisture from penetrating the crawlspace.

The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project. They initially called just for radon concerns but ended up getting a solution for a problem that they didn't know was easy to solve.

High Radon Levels in Home, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since 2017, and ever since they purchased the home they were concerned with the radon levels in the home. A couple of years ago the homeowners had their home tested for radon and the levels were higher than the recommended amount. They didn't do anything at that time but recently they decided to test the home again and the levels have increased from the last test. The homeowners decided it was time to solve this issue and they reached out to EFS for a free radon appointment. Our Design Specialist James visited the homeowners and designed a radon mitigation system in their home.

Our installation team installed a radon mitigation system in the home to lower the radon levels. The system was able to lower the levels from around 10.6 pCi/L to a comfortable level under 4.0 pCi/L.

Foundation Settlement Causing Cracks, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for the past 30 years recently they've noticed some cracking in their foundation. The homeowner would like to have someone look at the cracks because the water has begun to enter the basement through the cracks. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their foundation and the water entering their basement. Our Design Specialist John recommended installing 4 Push Piers to the settling portion of the foundation.

Our team followed John's plan for installing the Push Piers into the basement. Where the foundation of the home meets the foundation of the garage was where the most settlement had occurred. The team first marked where each of the Push Piers will be installed. Then they chipped out a small section of concrete and then removed dirt until they reached the footing of the foundation wall. Once to the footing the team chipped out a section of the footing and installed our Push Pier brackets, the team then began pushing piers down into the soil below until we hit sufficient pressure to stabilize the home. After all the Piers were installed and under sufficient pressure, the team then capped all of the piers and backfilled them with dirt, and repoured concrete over the dirt to match the basement floor. After the Piers were finished the team sealed the small cracks in the foundation with NexusPro.

The homeowners were happy with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about the foundation settling and or water entering the basement from the cracks.

Cracks in Cinderblock Foundation, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their 70-year-old home for the past five years. Over the past 5 months, they noticed cracks in their Cinderblock foundation wall. They have become increasingly concerned with the structural integrity of the home and have done a lot of work already and don't want it to be compromised. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their home and our Design Specialist John examined the basement and created a solution for the home. John recommended installing 7 Geolocks to the foundation of the home.

Our production team began settling up for installing our Geolock Anchors on the cinderblock foundation wall in the basement and on the outside of the home. The team first created a trench in the yard on the side of the home to install one side of our Geolock Anchors. After the trench was dug out, the team then marked the foundation wall where each Geolock will be installed. After marking where each SJ will be installed the team drilled holes through the foundation wall and then fed a galvanized rod into the trench into the yard. Once the rods were all sent into the trench the team put a Geolock Plate on the ends of the rods and used impact guns to tighten the Geolocks until they began taking pressure off of the wall. The team tightened all of the Geolocks and then backfilled the trench in the yard.

The homeowner was relieved after our team installed the 7 Geolocks to their Cinderblock foundation to stabilize it.

Radon Mitigation System, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had recently moved into this home. They had the home tested for radon during the purchasing process. The results of the radon test came back at 20.7 pCi/L. The new homeowners decided to call EFS for a free radon inspection. Our Design Specialist James inspected the home and designed a radon mitigation system for the home.

Our production team spent a couple of hours installing the extraction point, PVC, and radon fan into the home. After installing the system, the team tested to ensure the fan was working and that air was traveling through the PVC system.

The homeowners were pleased with the outcome of the project. They no longer have to worry about high levels of radon in their home anymore.

Leaking Foundation was Causing Concern, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had moved into their new home 5 weeks ago. Since the purchase of their home, they've had an inspection that revealed a foundation crack that was allowing water into their home. The homeowner had become increasingly concerned with the crack and decided they wanted to find a permanent solution before the problem got worse. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our Design Specialist Victor recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system to protect the home from water entering the home. Our perimeter drainage system includes WaterGuard, CleanSpace, UltraSump, and an IceGuard to protect the home from water entering the basement.

Our production team first began by chipping out a strip of concrete around the entire perimeter of the basement. When chipping around the basement the team had to avoid two obstructions; the water heater and the radon extraction point. Once the team chipped out the perimeter of the basement they laid 140ft of WaterGuard and installed an UltraSump that was integrated into the WaterGuard system. After the WaterGuard and UltraSump were installed the team then mixed and poured over the perimeter drainage and around the sump basin to eliminate any tripping hazards. Next, the team installed and encapsulated all of the walls in the basement with CleanSpace and directed the encapsulation into the WaterGuard. After the team installed the CleanSpace our team then continued to plumb the UltraSump to the exterior of the home where we installed an IceGuard. The IceGuard will prevent water from backing up into the basement. The team installed the drainage line after the IceGuard and extended it at least 10ft away from the home.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project.

Cracks in Foundation Making Home Difficult to Sell, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire was in the process of selling their home. The home had been on the market for a while and they found that some cracks in their foundation has resulted in a sticking point for the sale of the home. After a few potential buyers stressed concern with the cracks in the back of the attached garage, the homeowner decided they needed to have the cracks on the foundation repaired. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist found that the root cause of the cracks was that the walls were bowing.

Our design specialist recommended installing Geolock wall anchors and Crack Injection to the foundation wall.

Our production team began by prepping to install the Geolocks to the foundation wall. The first step was to create a trench inside the garage to mount one side of our Geolocks to. The team used a jackhammer to create a trench nearly the width of the garage which was long enough to hold 4 Geolocks inside. The team removed the concrete and dug down a couple of feet to ensure that the Geolock Plates will fit in the trench. Once the trench was set up the team then drilled small holes in the outside foundation behind the garage. Using those small holes the team sent a rod from the exterior of the home into the trench inside the garage. Once all 4 rods were sent into the garage the team attached Geolock Plates to either side of the rod and used an impact gun to tighten the rods. The rods were tightened until the wall was stabilized. After the wall was stabilized, the team then proceeded to use crack injection to seal the cracks in the foundation wall.

The homeowner was very happy with the results of the project. They were now confident that their home will sell for their asking price.

Water Seepage in Basement, Nashua, NH

A recent buyer of a home in Nashua, New Hampshire, had noticed water entering their basement and collecting on the floor. They have only lived in the home for a week and want the issue fixed immediately. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing a TripleSafe, IceGuard, WaterGuard, and a SaniDry into the basement to mitigate the water entering the basement.

Our production team first began by chipping out concrete along the foundation wall so they could fit the WaterGuard and TripleSafe against the wall. The team chipped out 120' of concrete along the wall to fit the WaterGuard and sump pump. Once the concrete and debris from the wall were removed the team began to place the WaterGuard into the trench. After the WaterGuard was laid into the trench, the team then installed the TripleSafe and connected it to the WaterGuard. After the TripleSafe and WaterGuard were installed, the team mixed up concrete and poured it over the WaterGuard and around the TripleSafe basin. While the concrete was curing the team fed the drainage pipes from the TripleSafe to the exterior of the home and installed the IceGuard to the drainage line on the outside of the home. After the IceGuard, the team made sure the rest of the drainage line was set 10' away from the foundation of the home. The last part of the project was the team installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier next to the TripleSafe to control the humidity in the basement.

The homeowner was happy with the results of the project. The homeowner no longer has to worry about water or high humidity entering their basement anymore.

Condos Walkway Needs Repair, Nashua, NH

A condo in Nashua, New Hampshire, had some walkways that were sunken and cracked. Residents of the condo have noticed the cracking and sinking, and the association wanted to have the walkways repaired before someone could get hurt. The condo association decided to call EFS for an inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro to lift, level, and seal the cracks on the walkway.

First, our team will lift and level the concrete. To allow the PolyLevel to be effective the team must drill small portholes through the concrete walkway. The portholes will allow the team to inject PolyLevel underneath the walkway to slowly and precisely lift it. If a slab needs to be lifted more than an inch or two our team would try to use slab jacks to aid in lifting the slab. The slab jack will temporarily lift the slab to make a void underneath, the team will then spray PolyLevel into the void to lift the slab. Once the slabs were level the team then used NexusPro to seal any cracks on the walkway. A caulking gun was used to lay a bead of NexusPro across any cracks in the slab. The team then used caulking spoons to push and spread the NexusPro deep into the cracks to fully seal them. Once all of the cracks were sealed and the slabs were lifted and leveled the job was complete.

The condo's tenants and association were happy with the work that Erickson Foundation Solutions provided.

Water Was Coming Through Cinder Block Foundation, Nashua, NH

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since the late '90s. In the past 2 months, they have noticed water entering their basement from the cinder block foundation. The homeowner planned to sell their home in 2025, so they wanted to make sure the value of the home was as much as it could be by then. The homeowner planned on making repairs until they decided to sell the home. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our design specialist examined the basement for possible leaks in the foundation. During their inspection, the specialist found a couple of areas where water was entering through the foundation, but they also found that their front-facing foundation wall was bowing inward. Our design specialist recommended a perimeter drainage system with CleanSpace into their basement and installing PowerBraces on the front-facing foundation wall.

Our production team began by ensuring that everything was removed from the perimeter of the basement so they could access the walls and floors. The team then chipped out concrete at the base of the foundation walls for us to install the WaterGuard at the foot of the wall. After the concrete was chipped out, the team started installing the CleanSpace across the foundation walls. Once all of the CleanSpace was installed, the team moved on to set up the PowerBraces. The team installed 7 PowerBraces on the front-facing foundation wall. After the PowerBraces were installed, the team installed the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. To install the water drainage system where the PowerBraces were installed, the team had to use piping that would allow water to flow around the L Bracket at the bottom of the PowerBraces. Once the perimeter drainage was completed the team mixed up concrete and poured it over the perimeter drainage system.

The homeowner was very happy with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about water coming into their basement and they can focus on making upgrades to their home before they sell it in 2025.

Foundation Wall Bowing, Nashua, NH

Paul G. recently purchased this home in Nashua, NH and had some immediate foundation concerns to address. During the home inspection process, there was a clearly visible, horizontal crack in the foundation wall in the basement. The concrete wall was about 6 and a half feet tall, and bowing in due to pressures from the soils on the exterior. Eventually this foundation wall would completely push in and fail. He planned on living in the home with his family for many years, so Paul needed a permanent solution.

Design specialist Jason Vachon completed a thorough inspection of the bowing wall for Paul, and proposed the installation of PowerBraces as a solution. The PowerBrace system is quick and efficient, requiring no excavation or heavy demolition of concrete in order to install.

Project foreman Nate Erickson and installation specialist Anthony Correa were able to complete installation of the designed PowerBrace system in a single day, and Paul's foundation wall is now permanently stabilized. Overtime, the wall may possibly be straightened as well, though the fix for now was to prevent any further bowing movement and improve the integrity of the concrete wall.
