Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Proactively Repairing a Pool Deck in Arlington, MA

At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we recently brought peace of mind to a homeowner in Arlington, MA, who was concerned about the minimal cracking and unlevel surface of their pool deck. Understanding that even small problems can lead to bigger issues down the line, the homeowner reached out to us to proactively tackle the issue before it worsened.

Our Customer Care team promptly scheduled a home inspection, where one of our adept System Design Specialists, Jim Meglio closely examined the pool deck. Drawing from their expansive knowledge and experience, Jim diagnosed the problem and recommended a dual-product solution: PolyLevel and NexusPro. PolyLevel, a state-of-the-art foam injection, was to lift and level the unlevel concrete, creating a safer, more visually pleasing pool area. NexusPro was the chosen solution for sealing the cracks, ensuring a seamless and durable finish that would extend the life of the concrete. Our skilled production team, consisting of foreman Tyler Oslizlo and dedicated installers, got to work, showcasing our commitment to providing a remarkable customer experience. The application of PolyLevel and NexusPro was quick, efficiently elevating the slabs to their original position and filling in the cracks without the messiness of a full-scale construction project. We made sure to tidy up the area before leaving, ensuring the space was clean and ready for the homeowner to enjoy confidently.

Post installation, the homeowner marveled at the visually upgraded pool deck. Now level and crack-free, the pool deck not only appeared new but also provided a safer space for family and friends to gather. Enhancing Basement Waterproofing with Perimeter Drainage System in Arlington, MA

At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we recently had the opportunity to assist a homeowner in Arlington, MA, who was facing some challenges with their basement waterproofing. The initial call was about adding perimeter drainage to an existing sump pump which wasn't fully keeping the basement dry. This is a common concern many homeowners bring to us, and we were more than ready to dive in and rectify this issue for them.

First things first, our dedicated Customer Care team quickly set up a home inspection appointment for the homeowner. Then, our System Design Specialist, John Prince, paid a visit to the home. After conducting a thorough inspection of the basement and evaluating the existing waterproof item configurations, we diagnosed the crux of the problem... - the necessity for an enhanced waterproofing system that integrated seamlessly with their current setup. This is where WaterGuard, our recommended and trusted product, came into the picture. Known for its efficacy in intercepting water at the perimeter of the basement, it was the perfect solution for the homeowner's needs. Our foreman Ryan Champagne and highly skilled installers then stepped onto the scene, carrying out the installation operation with precision, integrating the WaterGuard system with the existing sump pump, ensuring a comprehensive water management system was in place. With professional efficiency, our team completed the installation, leaving the basement not just dry but outfitted for longer-lasting protection against moisture.

Cleaning up before our departure, we made sure the homeowner was satisfied with our work. That triumphant feeling shared by not only the homeowner but our team—knowing the basement transformation from damp to dry had been achieved—exemplified our mission to provide reliable solutions and a remarkable customer experience.

Finished Basement Preparation in Arlington, MA

At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we recently tackled a challenging but all-too-common issue for homeowners – finishing a basement with enduring water problems. Our journey began in Arlington, MA, where a homeowner dreamed of turning a damp and underused basement into a vibrant, functional living space. Understanding the importance of a dry and healthy foundation before any renovation began, the homeowner reached out for our expertise.

Our process kicked off with a thorough inspection by our System Design Specialist, Debra Rayborn. It was identified that correctly managing water would be key to turning this basement into the dry, habitable space the homeowner envisioned. The solution? Installation of our tried and tested WaterGuard interior drainage system and SuperSump pump. Together, these products form a powerhouse duo, guiding water efficiently and effectively out and away from the home. Additional peace of mind came with our IceGuard system, ensuring that even in the deep freeze of Massachusetts winters, water would be expelled away from the basement, avoiding the risks of backup and further moisture problems. Performing the actual work with a blend of precision and swift action, our team managed to transform what was once a concern-oriented space into an area poised for renovation and full utilization.

After the installed systems' neat and tidy wrap-up, the basement was left drier, healthier, and ready for its transformation into a dream living space. The homeowner was thrilled by the amount of usable space regained and impressed by the professionalism and cleanliness our team maintained throughout the entire process. Because at Erickson Foundation Solutions, our goal isn't just to solve immediate foundation and water problems – we lay the groundwork for homeowners' dreams.

Sump Pump Installation

Rebecca K. of Arlington, Massachusetts was experiencing basement leakage during heavy rains. Planning on finishing the basement in the future, she first wanted to waterproof the basement. Looking to protect her forever home, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

After providing a free inspection of the home, Design Specialist Kenneth Calabrese recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and our TripleSafe sump pump system. After further discussion, Rebecca chose to install only the TripleSafe sump pump. Our installation crew chipped out concrete to create a sump basin. The TripleSafe was then installed within crushed stone. When water enters the sump basin, the TripleSafe three-pump system ensures that water will always be pumped out of the home. An exterior discharge line was installed to the sump pump and cored through the foundation to direct water out of the home. A mechanism called IceGuard was installed to the discharge line to prevent frozen pipes. This eliminates the possibility of pipes bursting or water backing up in the sump basin.

Rebecca now has peace of mind that her basement is protected moving forward with finishing the basement.

Concrete Lift and Stabilization in Arlington, MA

Richard L. of Arlington, Massachusetts wanted to stay ahead on maintaining his property value. Different areas around the pool had sinking concrete which had resulted in some cracks. Wanting to eliminate tripping hazards and have an attractive finish, he reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solution's team.

Our Design Specialist recommended installing PolyLevel concrete leveling and NexusPro joint repair. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that fills voids underneath the sunken concrete, lifting it back to its original state. This permanent solution was applied to the affected areas around the pool and were almost instantly restored. With the concrete level and stabilized, our installation crew then added NexusPro sealant to the joints. NexusPro is different than other sealants as it is resistant to UV rays, preventing cracking for a long-lasting attractive finish. With NexusPro installed, water is prevented from making its way through cracks, which can further cause concrete to shift and settle.

Foreman, Tyler Oslizlo, performed a final walkthrough with Richard after completing the job.  He was very happy with the result.

Porch Floors Were Sagging, Arlington, MA

A homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts, had been experiencing sagging floors on the porch at the front of their home. They have seen the issue get worse over time and decided they wanted to find a solution to the problem. They called EFS for a free inspection of their porch. Our Design Specialist Liam FitzPatrick met with the homeowner and inspected the supports under the porch. He found the support was allowing the floors to sag and proposed replacing them with Helical Piers.

Our Installation Team led by Edward N. began by removing the outside wall of the porch to gain access to the supports. Once the supports were exposed the team then set up temporary posts so they could install the Helical Piers. The team used our hydraulic drive head to push the Helical Piers into the ground to create a strong base to have the porch sit. Once the piers were pressurized to the proper PSI, the team then attached our porch brackets and cut 6x6 pt to bridge the bracket to the floor system of the porch. Once all of the support was secured, the team removed the temporary supports and re-installed the wall to complete the job.

Protect Basement from Water Intrusion, Arlington, MA

A homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts had experienced a few instances of water collection in their basement over the past ten years. Wanting to finish the basement, the homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for a free inspection. After inspecting the basement, our Design Specialist Tom Armano recommended a perimeter drainage system to prevent future water damage.

Our Installation Team, led by Anthony LoCascio, began by creating a 6-inch wide trench around the perimeter of the basement. They then laid our WaterGuard and installed the UltraSump in the lowest corner of the basement. The two systems were integrated so that any water collected would be fed into the sump pump. Finally, the team mixed and poured concrete over the WaterGuard and UltraSump to secure them in place.

Now that the threat of water damage is eliminated, the happy homeowners can proceed with finishing their basement.

Waterproof Basement Before Finishing the Space, Arlington, MA

A homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts, lives in a home that was built in the 1950s. The homeowners have lived in the home for a decade and have seen the basement have water seep into only a handful of times. The homeowners were looking to finish the basement but wanted to address the water concerns first. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Tom recommended installing a Full Perimeter Drainage System into the basement to keep the basement dry all the time.

Our Installation Team began by chipping out a basin for our sump pump and then the entire perimeter of the basement to install the perimeter drainage. In the basin, the team installed an UltraSump. The team installed the pump into the basin and plumbed the system to the exterior of the home where it will pump out any water that enters its liner. After the team had plumbed the system to the exterior of the home, the team returned to the basement and installed 102' of WaterGuard to the perimeter of the basement. Once the team inserted the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement they tested the system and then mixed concrete over the WaterGuard and around the basin of the UltraSump to lock them in place.

With the perimeter drainage system installed in the home, the basement would be dry all the time. This will now allow the homeowner to begin the process of finishing their basement.

2 Family Home With Water Entering the Finished Basement, Arlington, MA

The owner of a 2 family home in Arlington, Massachusetts, lives in the main level and finished basement and has tenants living on the top floor. The owner has seen water coming up from the floor in the basement. The floor was ripped up once and the owner doesn't want to do that again. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their finished basement. Our Design Specialist Keith recommended installing a perimeter drainage system in the affected area of the basement. The owner only found water collecting in one corner of the basement so Keith recommended placing a SuperSump in that corner of the basement with 18' of WaterGuard that will connect to the sump pump.

Our team chipped out a long and thin section of concrete against the wall so we could install our WaterGuard. In the corner of the basement where a closet was located, the team chipped out a larger section of concrete so we could install our SumpSump and integrate it with our WaterGuard. The team installed the WaterGuard and the sump into their respective spots. The team then plumbed the sump and tested the system before covering the WaterGuard and around the sump pump with a layer of concrete. While the concrete was curing the team installed the exterior drainage line into the yard. The EDL will make sure to expel the water at a minimum of 10' away from the foundation of the home.

The owner of the 2 family home was very happy they don't have to rip up their entire floor again. The WaterGuard and SuperSump that our team installed will make sure that water will not collect in the finished portion of the basement again.

Auxiliary Wall Installation, Arlington, MA

A homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts, had concerns with the chimney and wall of their 100+-year-old home. The homeowners have lived in their home for 20+ years and over the past five years, they noticed chimney movement and water entering from their garage foundation wall. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our design specialist recommended installing Helical Piers to add stability to the chimney and the wall and then installing an Auxiliary Wall to the wall that the chimney was leaning on to add support to that wall.

Our production team began by setting up the Helical Piers first by chipping out small sections of concrete in their garage. The team chipped out four holes along the foundation wall so they could install the helical piers. The team used a hydraulic drive head to drill the helical pier into the ground until sufficient pressure was achieved. Once they achieve pressure on all of the helical piers the team then attached the bracket to the top of the pier and connected it to the foundation wall. After the brackets were secured to the foundation they backfilled dirt over them and repoured concrete. After the concrete was set the team then began setting up the PowerBraces for the Auxiliary Wall. The team installed three PowerBraces along the foundation wall to then set them in concrete to form the Auxiliary wall. The team used large wall forms to create the space for the team to pour the concrete for the Auxiliary Wall. When setting up the forms for the Auxiliary Wall the team had to work around the chimney cleanout door. Once all of the forms were set up the team had a concrete truck arrive on site to fill up the forms with concrete. Once the forms were filled with concrete the team then had to wait for the concrete to set. After a couple of days, the concrete had fully cured and the team removed the forms from the Auxiliary Wall. The team then removed any imperfections from the concrete.

The homeowner was very happy with the results of the project to add stability to their chimney.

Water Leaking into Basement, Arlington, MA

A homeowner in Arlington, Massachusetts, had recently built an addition to their home. The homeowners have lived in this home for 30 years and never had water in the basement, but since they've installed this new addition that hasn't been the case anymore. Water has been entering from the basement of the addition since it was installed. Our design specialist inspected the addition and recommended installing a full perimeter drain with a sump pump and a dehumidifier in the basement.

Our production team began installing the waterproofing system that included, 78' of WaterGuard, IceGuard, SuperSump, and a SaniDry into the basement. The team first started by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the foundation, then installed the drainage system. The perimeter drain is linked up with the sump pump and the IceGuard. The guard is installed on the outside of the home to prevent a discharge line from freezing and backing up into the basement. Lastly, the team installed a powerful dehumidifier to reduce the relative humidity in the basement to prevent potential mold growth.

SmartJacks and Poly Wall Restoration, Arlington, MA

Tom A. of Arlington, Massachusetts has a fieldstone foundation that was crumbling, and wanted to know what options he had. Tom had called EFS to see if they could send out someone out to look at his home. Erickson Foundation Solutions sent out Design Specialist Michael Bradley to the home. Michael inspected the basement of the home and proposed a Poly Foam to coat the inside of the fieldstone foundation and then SmartJacks to add support to some of the older beams in the home.

Crew Lead Spencer Ladd and his team came to the home and sprayed the foam and installed the new SmartJacks into the basement. After the project, Tom actually likes the look more with the white foam finish than the untouched fieldstone.
