Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Radon Mitigation in Winchester, MA

A homeowner in Winchester, MA recently tested their home for radon gas. After getting the results back, they were concerned with their radon levels being at 9 picocuries. This is well above EPA's safety standards of 4 picocuries. Knowing radon can be more prominent in the basement, the homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to safeguard their finished basement as well as the rest of their home from radon gas. This photo gallery shows how we installed our radon mitigation system.

Radon Extraction Point

Concrete was removed from the foundation floor in the basement to create an extraction point. PVC pipe was then fit to the extraction point and went through the drywall ceiling and cored through the home's foundation wall.

Radon Fan

The radon fan is installed to the PVC pipe, allowing it to draw radon gas that exists in the soil underneath the home's foundation. Additional PVC pipe is then constructed from the fan to above the roofline to safely remove radon gas.

Radon Monometer

The monometer installed with the radon system measures the airflow of the system. When the arrow is within the green box, the radon system is operating correctly, giving additional peace of mind to homeowners.
