Radon Extraction Point
Our crew started work on the project by creating an extraction point in the foundation floor of the basement. PVC pipe was then fit to the extraction point. This was done to allow a path for radon to be safely drawn out from underneath the foundation and out of the home.
Additional Radon Extraction Point
Due to the high radon levels in the home, it was practical to create an additional extraction point to maximize the radon drawn from underneath the home's foundation. The PVC pipe from the two extraction points were then connects and routed to the exterior of the home.
Radon Fan and Removal from Home
The radon fan is attached to the PVC pipe on the exterior of the home. The radon fan draws radon that exists underneath the home's foundation. Additional PVC pipe is then constructed from the fan and extends beyond the roofline and away from any entry points of the home to safely remove radon gas.
Foundation Crack Sealing
To ensure radon levels are as low as possible, we sealed all the foundation floor cracks. This prevents radon gas from seeping through them, further safeguarding the home.
Radon Monometer
The radon monometer was installed to measure the amount of suction that the radon fan draws. The arrow in the green section of the monometer shows that the system is operating correctly, giving the homeowner the ultimate peace of mind that their home is safe from radon gas.
