Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: High Radon Level in Home, Nashua, NH
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for almost 10 years. Recently their daughter had tested her home for radon water and had to have a radon system installed. This made them think about radon in their own home, so they tested their home and the results came back averaging 30 pCi/L which is high. They reached out to EFS for an inspection of their home to design a radon mitigation for their home. Our Design Specialist Nikki Burke met with the homeowner. She designed a radon mitigation system with two extraction points to lower the radon levels inside the home.
Our installation team created two extraction points and connected those points with a radon pipe that will be fed to the exterior of the home. On the outside of the home, we installed a radon fan and more radon piping to pull radon from below the home and vent it above the home so I could not re-enter the home.
When the system was fully installed we showed the homeowner the system and gave them a charcoal radon test kit to test the levels inside the home after the system had been running for about a week to verify that the levels were lowered.
Extraction Point 1
The team installed a total of 2 extraction points to collect the most radon possible from below the home.
Extraction Point 2
The second extraction point is attached to the first and sent outside the home where we installed our Radon Fan.
Radon Fan Installed
We installed the Radon Fan to the exterior of the home and vent the system above the roofline to prevent radon from re-entering the home.
