Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Addressing Health Concerns in Basement, Nashua, NH
This homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since May 2023. Their son has a room in the basement that he spends a lot of time in. The homeowners had read about the harmful effects of radon gas and felt that they should test their homes for radon. They reached out to EFS for us to test their home for radon. After testing the home for radon, our Design Specialist Josh Phillips met with the homeowners and reviewed the test results. The test results averaged 11.3 pCi/L, which is a high average. Josh recommended installing a radon mitigation system with two extraction points to lower the radon levels as much as possible and also recommended a SaniDry to lower humidity levels in the basement.
Our Installation Team, led by Branden Edwards began by creating two extraction points for our radon system. The team then attached PVC pipe to both extraction points and merged them into one pipe that will lead to the radon fan installed on the exterior of the home. We installed the radon fan to the exterior of the home connected the PVC pipe to the fan and then vented the system above the roofline of the home. After the system was fully installed the team then installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier.
The team was able to lower the radon and humidity levels in the basement to lower the risk of potential health problems.
