Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Radon Concerns, Plaistow, NH
This homeowner in Plaistow, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for the past 20 years. recently they found out a neighbor of theirs had been diagnosed with lung cancer. The homeowners were concerned with the air quality and wanted to get "ahead of the game". This prompted them to reach out to EFS for a radon test to be performed in their home. Our Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez dropped a 48-hour radon test into the basement of the home and will return when the test is complete. After the test was complete Isaac returned to the home and met with the homeowner to review the results of the test. The results came back at an average of 5.3 pCi/L, which is higher than the recommended amount. Isaac recommended and designed a radon mitigation system for the home.
Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards began by creating an extraction point into the slab in the basement. Attached to the extraction point is PVC pipe and the pipe will be fed to the exterior of the home. Once to the exterior of the home the team installed the radon fan to the outside of the home. The team then connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the entire system above the roofline of the home. With the system installed the team then retested the home and the results came back below 4.0 pCi/L.
