Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: High Radon Levels, Statham, NH
This homeowner in Stratham, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since 2005. A few weeks ago the homeowner was watching TV and saw a commercial about the risks of radon and this commercial made them think of having a radon system installed into their home. They decided to call EFS for us to come out and test the radon levels inside their home. We dropped a 48-hour radon test kit into the basement. Once the test was complete our Design Specialist Bryan Barnard met with the homeowners to go over the test results and for Bryan to design a radon system for their home.
Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards began by making an extraction point in the slab. This will allow us to attach our PVC pipe to the extraction point so we collect radon-filled air from beneath the home. Once the PVC pipe was secured to the extraction point, the team then fed the pipe out to the exterior of the home where we will install the radon fan to the side of the home. After we installed the radon fan on the side of the home, the team connected the PVC pipe to the fan and then vented the fan over the roofline of the home.
Basement Before
The home has high radon levels that have averaged around 15 pCi/L.
Outside Before
This is where the radon fan will be installed.
Extraction Point and Radon Pipe
The team created the extraction points connected the PVC pipe to the extraction point and fed it to the outside of the home.
Radon Fan Installed
The team installed the radon fan on the side of the home and then connected the PVC pipe to the fan. After everything was installed the team then vented the system above the roofline of the home.
