Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Lowered Radon to Safe Levels, Stoneham, MA
A homeowner from Stoneham, Massachusetts had their home tested for radon in 2017 and the results showed levels below the recommended limit at 2 pCi/L. However, when retested almost 6 years later, the levels had spiked to 7 pCi/L, exceeding the safe limit. As a result, the homeowners contacted EFS for a radon mitigation system installation. Our Design Specialist, Dan Gillette, met with them and designed a system tailored to their home.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the basement slab and attaching a series of PVC pipes to it, extending to the exterior of the home. The team then installed the radon fan outside and connected it to the PVC pipe. After connecting the system, the team vented the radon-filled air out above the roofline, allowing it to dissipate in the open air. The system will draw up radon-filled air from beneath the home and send it out into the open air above the home where it can dissipate.

The team will install an extraction point and a radon pipe into the basement.

The team will install the radon fan on the exterior of the home.

The team installed the radon pipe to the extraction point and fed the PVC pipe to the exterior of the home.
