Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Basement Finished and Want Radon System Installed, Groton, MA
A homeowner in Groton, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 4 years. They recently finished the basement and started to worry about the radon levels since they were spending more time in the basement. They tested the home and the results averaged around 9.5 pCi/L. The homeowners decided to call EFS to inspect their basement and install a radon mitigation system in their home to lower the radon levels. Our Design Specialist Kenny designed a radon system that will lower the levels below 4.0 pCi/L.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the basement next to the water heater. Next, the team will connect PVC to the extraction point and feed them outside where they were connected to the radon fan. After the PVC pipe was connected to the radon fan that was installed on the side of the home, the team then used more PVC pipe to vent the system above the roofline. This will prevent radon-filled air from re-entering the home.
