Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: High Radon Levels in Home, Nashua, NH
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, purchased their home in 2017. Since they purchased the home they have had concerns with the radon levels in the home. They tested the home for radon a couple of years ago and receive results that were above the recommended amount. They didn't do anything at that time, but now the homeowner would like to address their radon concerns. They decided to call EFS for a free radon appointment and we tested the home for radon. Our test came back at 10.6 pCi/L which was higher than the first radon test. So our Design Specialist James designed a radon mitigation system for the home for our installation team to install.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point into the basement with a core drill. The team made a 3" circular hole in the slab and connected the PVC pipe to the extraction point. The PVC pipe was fed to the exterior of the home. On the exterior of the home, the team installed the radon fan to the side of the home. Once installed the team attached the PVC to the fan and then vented the system above the roofline using more PVC piping.
