Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Lower Radon Levels for Family, Lynn, MA
A homeowner in Lynn, Massachusetts, had recently found out that they were having a baby. They wanted to make their home the safest place for their child. They contacted an inspector to test the radon levels in their home. The test came back with results between 8-10 pCi/L so the inspector recommended installing a radon mitigation system to bring the levels down to safe levels. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free radon inspection and our Design Specialist Kenny designed a radon mitigation system for the home.
Our production team began by creating a radon extraction point in the basement to collect radon from beneath the home. Next, the team connected the PVC pipe to the extraction point and fed the PVC to the outside of the home where the team installed the radon fan. After the team connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan they then vented the rest of the system above the roofline of the home.
Before Radon System
Kenny designed the radon system to be installed on the slight bump out on the side of the home.
Extraction Point Installed
The team used a core drill to create an extraction point in the basement to collect radon from beneath the home. PVC pipe was used to direct the radon toward the radon fan.
Radon Fan
The team connected the radon fan to the extraction point by using a PVC pipe. The team then vented the system above the roofline of the home.
