Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Reduce Radon Levels in Finished Basement, Newton Highlands, MA
A homeowner in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts, used their finished basement frequently. The homeowners became more and more worried about the time that they spent in their basement because of the fear of having high radon levels. They decided to call EFS for a free radon inspection. Our design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system in the basement to reduce the levels of radon in the home.
Our production team first began by creating an extraction point in the slab. Using a core drill the team removed a circular piece of concrete from the basement slab. The team connected a PVC pipe to where the concrete was removed. They then fed the PVC pipe to the exterior of the home where it will be connected to the radon fan. The radon fan will draw radon-filled air from beneath the basement slab into the PVC pipe, through the radon fan, and up into the open air outside the home.
