Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Radon Mitigation System, Chelmsford, MA
A homeowner in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, had called EFS because they had recently tested for radon in their home and got two different numbers from the test. The numbers they received from the radon test were 4.2 and 6.1 pCi/L and the homeowner wanted to reduce the radon levels in their home to a healthy level. Our design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system.
Our production team began by chipping out an extraction point in the crawlspace to pull radon gas from. The team chipped through the concrete to install a radon pipe in the concrete. The team sealed the radon pipe into the concrete and fed a series of PVC pipes to a radon fan at the exterior of the house. The radon fan will force radon air to travel through the pipe and vent it above the roofline of the home. This will direct radon away from the home and won't allow radon to re-enter the home. Our team tested the radon system to make sure everything was working correctly.
The homeowner was happy about the radon system they had installed. They are thankful that they no longer have to worry about radon in their home.
