A homeowner in Peabody, MA was concerned with a section of their concrete where the patio behind the home adjoined the pool deck. The patio itself was the location of a table and some seating. When walking from this area to the deck towards the pool, the concrete joints had become uneven, as one of the sides settled. This section was unsightly and a bit of a trip hazard for friends and family.

Rather than replace all the concrete in this section, which would be costly and disruptive to their backyard, the homeowners were looking for alternative solutions. When they met with our team and learned about PolyLevel, they were thrilled. Our team completed the project in a single day, and were successful in lifting the concrete to the desired height. The trip hazard was no longer a concern, and the joints were sealed with NexusPro to create a more finished look.

Job Stories From Peabody, MA
Upgrading Finished Basement Waterproofing System in Peabody, MA

When a homeowner in Peabody, MA, found themselves with a persistently wet basement despite having a sump pump installed, they knew they needed a better solution. The existing sump pump was failing to capture all the incoming water, leading to damaged carpets and an increasingly problematic living space. Realizing the urgency, they reached out to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions for a reliable fix.

Upon receiving the call, our Customer Care team quickly set up an appointment for a home inspection. System Design Specialist George Gouthier from our team visited the home, thoroughly examining the issue. It was clear that the single sump pump system was inadequate for the amount of water the location was facing, especially during heavy rainfalls. Not only was water ingress on the increase, but it was also bypassing the pump entirely and causing damage to the finished areas of the basement. Our specialist recommended a comprehensive basement waterproofing solution beginning with the installation of a WaterGuard drainage system. This innovative product is specifically designed to intercept water at the basement perimeter and direct it efficiently to where it could be managed, away from the basement living space. To address the core of the homeowner's problem, we installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump, an aptly named solution reflecting its three levels of protection—including a primary pump, a secondary pump for high water volume situations, and a battery backup pump for power outage conditions. We also included an IceGuard system to prevent freeze-ups in the discharge line during the cold Massachusetts winters, ensuring the basement remains dry year-round.

After replacing the insufficient sump pump and installing the new systems, we observed that water previously troubling the basement was now being effectively managed. The homeowner was pleased with the transformation and expressed relief at no longer having to worry about heavy rainfalls intruding into the finished basement space.

Concrete Pool Deck Preservation in Peabody, MA

We at Erickson Foundation Solutions recently had the privilege of helping a homeowner in Peabody, MA, who was worried about the longevity of their pool deck. Understandably, they wanted to ensure that this favorite spot for family gatherings and summer relaxation remained safe and enjoyed for years to come.

Our journey with this project began with the homeowner reaching out to our dedicated Customer Care team, expressing their concerns and seeking a lasting solution. Prompt and eager to assist, we scheduled a comprehensive home inspection to thoroughly understand the specifics of their concern. Upon inspection, talented System Design Specialist, Scott Ruisi, diagnosed the main issues: the pool deck was showing signs of wear and tear that, if left unattended, could lead to bigger issues down the line. The recommendation was clear – installing DecoShield. DecoShield is designed not just to aesthetically enhance concrete surfaces but also to protect and extend their lifespan significantly. This seemed a fitting solution to the homeowner's problem, offering peace of mind concerning both safety and durability. Our Production Team, consisting of experienced foreman Patrick Montine and skilled installers, then took the reins. They worked meticulously, ensuring every inch of the designated area was perfectly covered with DecoShield.

The result? A recognizably revitalized pool deck that not only looked brand new with its beautiful golden tint but was also fortified against the elements and time. First, our diligent Customer Care team scheduled an in-home evaluation where one of our skilled System Design Specialists, Scott Ruisi, paid the homeowners a visit. Supports in Basement Causing Concern, Peabody, MA

A homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts, purchased their late 1800s home about 5 years ago. Since living in the home, they have noticed the brick supports in their basement appear to chipping away. They have become worried that the brick posts will deteriorate and potentially collapse. This prompted them to reach out to EFS for a free inspection of their basement and the supports. Our Design Specialist Keith Soper met with the owners of the home and inspected the basement of their home. Keith spent most of his time looking at all of the support in the basement and determining the best solution for the home. After his inspection, Keith recommended installing 4 SmartJacks into the basement to take pressure off of the brick supports that were deteriorating.

Our Installation Team led by Eric Witham began by marking where each of the SmartJacks will be installed. Once marked the team then chipped out a small section of concrete for each footing and then dug down 24" so we could pour in a combination of crushed stone and concrete to create a solid footing. Once the footings cure the team sets our galvanized steel over the concrete and cuts our SmartJacks to the correct size. The team made sure to leave a couple of inches between the SmartJack and the beam so we installed the adjustable top bracket. Once the entire SmartJack was together the team then adjusted the top bracket so we could lift and level the floor system. After all of the SJs were adjusted the team then mixed up concrete and poured it over the footings to lock them into place.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project and were very happy they no longer had to worry about the old supports in their basement.

Concerns with Floor Stabilization, Peabody, MA

A homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts, had concerns with the stability of the floors in their early 1900s home. The homeowners were doing multiple projects around the house to potentially sell. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Kenny recommended installing SmartJacks into the basement with supplemental beams to stabilize the floors of the home. Kenny's design included 4 SmartJacks installed into two separate areas of the basement to stabilize the floors.

Our team installed 2 SmartJack and a supplemental beam near the stairs into the basement, and another 2 SmartJacks and a supplemental beam on the opposite side of the basement.

Our production team installed the 4 SmartJacks and supplemental beams into the two areas of the basement. The team made holes beneath the concrete to install the SmartJack footings. Once the footings were in their respective holes the team installed the rest of the SJ and supplemental beam to the floor system. Once everything was installed the team used concrete to cover the SmartJack footings and lock them in place.

Commercial Building Needs Waterproofing, Peabody, MA

A commercial storage unit business in Peabody, Massachusetts, was built during the 1990s and has seen water seeping into paying customers' storage units and threatening to ruin some of their items. After 2 years of water appearing on the floors of the storage units, the owner of the storage unit building called EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Tom recommended installing WaterGuard, TripleSafe, IceGuard, and CleanSpace to prevent water from seeping into customers' storage units.

Our production team installed the WaterGuard, TripleSafe, and CleanSpace along the 200' wall at the front of the building. The team installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace to the entire length of the wall. The team also installed 3 TripleSafes along the front wall to pump out any water collected from the CleanSpace and WaterGuard.

The owners and customers of the storage building were pleased with the results of the project. The team addressed all water seepage points by installing our WaterGuard, CleanSpace, TripleSafe, and IceGuard.

Uneven Floors in Older Home, Peabody, MA

A homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 7 years. When they moved in 7 years ago the inspector revealed that the floors in the kitchen and living rooms of the early 1900s home were sloping. The homeowner was planning on doing some renovations in the future. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Kenny recommended installing SmartJacks into the basement to lift and level the floor system of the early 1900s home.

Our team began by setting up temporary posts in the basement. The team then removed the old lally columns and then started installing 9 SmartJacks throughout the basement. Some of the supports in the basement were installed on top of the ledge. Most traditional supports wouldn't be useful while installed on uneven ledges, but our SmartJacks can still be very effective on the ledge. The team was able to install the SJs and lift and level the floors above.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project. The concerns they had with their floors disappeared after the team installed the SmartJacks in their home. The floors in their kitchen and living room didn't feel sloped or bouncy anymore.

Storage Facility Leaking Water, Peabody, NH

A commercial storage business in Peabody, Massachusetts, had seen water entering the storage area of customers for the past year. Since customers pay them to make sure their items were safe, the business decided to find the best solution for the problem as quickly as they can. The manager reached out to a couple of different companies until choosing Erickson Foundation Solution to solve their problems. Our Design Specialist Tom inspected the areas of concern and recommended installing perimeter drainage, multiple sumps pumps, IceGuard, and encapsulating the affected walls.

Our production team began by chipping out a path for the perimeter drainage and basins for each sump pump. After that was chipped out the team then installed CleanSpace on the wall to collect any water from the walls. After the CleanSpace was installed the team installed the TripleSafes into each basin and plumbed the sump pumps outside. The team installed IceGuard on each of the TripleSafes drainage lines to ensure that the system won't back up and then the team performed a water test. Next, the team installed the WaterGuard along the wall and connected it to the TripleSafe and into the WaterGuard. After everything was secured and tested, the team then poured concrete over the WaterGuard and around the TripleSafe Basins.

This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts had water repeatedly entering the finished section of their basement. The homeowner wanted to have a sump pump installed into their home. After the homeowner removed the flooring our production crew installed 116ft of WaterGuard, 2 SuperSumps, and 2 UltraSumps.

Basement Moisture Concerns, Peabody, MA

This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts was concerned about a large crack in the basement along with some moisture issues and settlement. She would like to have all of her concerns examined at once. She decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

Design Specialist Chris Greenwood inspected the home. Chris confirmed the crack would need to be sealed, the settlement should be addressed, and the moisture can be mitigated. Chris recommended installing push piers to the settled part of the home. The homeowner told Chris they would like to address the settlement at another time. They would like to focus on the crack on the foundation, adding a sump pump and moisture control.

Crew Lead Spencer Ladd and his team installed to seal the cracks, install a Sani Dry Dehumidifier, install a sump pump, replace the bulkhead that is leaking, and replace a lally column that the homeowner wanted to be replaced.

The homeowner was very happy with the versatility of EFS.

Foundation Wall Crack is Causing Concern, Peabody, MA

This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts has a large crack in their foundation wall and some moisture issues that they would like to have addressed.  The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

SmartJacks With Concentric Piers, Peabody, MA

This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts had been experiencing sinking in the middle of his home. The main floors in his home are slanting toward the middle of the home. The homeowner would like to find a way to lift and stabilize the floors. The homeowner had a friend that does engineering that design a fix. The fix included support that is set in the ground around 2' and has a pier connected to it. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and their thoughts on this type of solution.

Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez inspected the home. Isaac looked at the plan that the homeowners' friend had provided. Isaac found out that the pier was going to be connected to the support because the homeowner wanted to eventually drop the basement floor by 2' and wanted to make sure he didn't have to redo the supports again. Isaac recommended installing SmartJacks with concentric piers attached to the bottom.

Crew Lead Chris Tremblay and his team arrived at the home and installed 6 SmartJacks with Concentric Push Piers.

Tripping Hazard Around Pool, Peabody, MA

David S. of Peabody, Massachusetts was experiencing a tripping hazard around his pool and wanted it repaired before it got any worse. He decided to call Erickson Foundation Solution to see if someone could come out to look at his pool deck.

Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez came to the home to inspect the pool deck. After inspecting the pool deck he proposed that using PolyLevel would be able to eliminate the tripping hazard.

Crew Lead Nick Melo and his team came to the home and injected PolyLevel into the pool deck. Nick was able to lift and level the slabs around the pool deck to the same height so there wasn't a tripping hazard anymore.

Concrete Deck Leveling,

Homeowner Mike G. was concerned with one section of the patio surrounding his pool. There were a number of uneven concrete slabs, which were both unsightly and a trip hazard. He knew kids would be running around the pool, and also didn't want others to be hitting their toes on this bump. Mike was satisfied with his inspection process with design specialist Kenneth Calabrese, and decided to fix the issue with PolyLevel.

PolyLevel was the ideal solution, as it was quick, clean, and cost effective. The install took less than one day, and no removal or demolition of concrete or soil was required. The uneven sections of concrete were lifted to near level and fully stabilized. Mike was very satisfied with the outcome.

Design Specialist Jason Love came to the home and proposed Resurface Pro. Resurfacing the existing concrete will take a fraction of the time and money than ripping up the existing pool deck. Crew Lead Jon Provost and his crew came to the home and resurfaced the whole pool deck.
