Nancy B. of Groton Massachusetts was experiencing high radon levels in their home. The radon levels were tested between 48-56 pCi/L. They have a partly finished basement and would like to have a radon mitigation system installed. Design Specialist John Prince came to the home and inspected the basement. He created a design for a radon mitigation system in the basement that comes out underneath the side steps of the home.

Crew Lead Josh Provost and his team came to the home and installed the radon mitigation system. Once the radon system was installed the radon levels were reduced dramatically.

This homeowner in Groton, Massachusetts recently got their oil tank installed in the basement. When the tank was being installed the homeowner noticed that the rock wall near the oil tank was crumbling and chunks appeared to be falling off the wall. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese inspected the basement and the rock wall foundation. Kenny confirmed that the wall is crumbling and recommended a solution. Kenny had noticed some of the support posts in the basement seemed weak. Kenny's recommended solution is to install an Auxiliary wall to the section of the wall that is crumbling and to replace some of the supports in the basement with SmartJacks.

The EFS team first supported the home using temporary posts. They then chipped away the old foundation wall down to the footing. Next, they poured a new footing. Once the footing was set they started building the masonry wall.

Sunken and cracked concrete around your home is not only an eyesore but is also a safety hazard. As time goes by, if the problem isn’t corrected, it will only get worse. However, you have no reason to fret when you have the professionals at Erickson Foundation Solutions doing the work. Our experts use PolyLevel, a strong, and durable foam material to lift your concrete slabs back into place. We drill small holes into the slab where the foam is injected and expands, raising the concrete into place. Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Replacing Failing Foundation Wall, Groton, MA

A homeowner in Groton, Massachusetts, lives in a home that was built over 100 years ago. The homeowner has seen that one of their foundation walls was separating. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their foundation. Our Design Specialist John Prince met with the homeowner and talked about their goals for the project. They wanted to find a solution that would fix their foundation wall and give them peace of mind. John inspected the foundation and returned to the homeowners with a solution. The solution was for EFS to remove a 10' section of the foundation wall that was failing and replace it with a new masonry block wall.

Our Installation Team began by exposing the failing foundation wall so we could remove it. Once the old and failing foundation wall was removed the team poured a footing. The footing will span from wall to wall and allow us to install our masonry block on top of the footing and build up the new masonry block wall. Once the team finished laying all of the masonry blocks we then backfilled against the new foundation wall.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about that foundation wall failing and it has given them peace of mind.

Basement Finished and Want Radon System Installed, Groton, MA

A homeowner in Groton, Massachusetts, had lived in their home for the past 4 years. Since moving in they have finished the basement and became concerned with the radon levels down there. They decided to call EFS for a radon system inspection and installation. When they tested the basement for radon the test results averaged around 9.5 pCi/L. Our Design Specialist Kenny designed a radon mitigation system to install in the home to reduce the amount of radon in the home.

The installation team began by creating an extraction point in the basement next to the water heater. The team then connected PVC pipes and fed them to the exterior of the home where we installed the radon fan on the side of the home. Once the fan was linked to the extraction point by the PVC pipes the team then used additional PVC pipe to vent the system above the roofline of the home to make sure radon-filled air cannot re-enter the home.

The homeowner was pleased with the results of the project. A few weeks after the radon system was installed the home was tested again for radon and this time the results averaged below 4.0 pCi/L.

Cracked and Leaning Foundation Wall, Groton, MA

The owner of this home in Groton, MA had been living there for over 23 years and began to notice cracks in the basement floor and along the back wall were beginning to get worse. The family was considering finishing the basement in the near future, and so knew they needed to determine why the cracks formed and solve the problem before it got worse. Our production team went in and installed 3 GeoLock wall anchors along the back wall to stabilize the cracked and leaning concrete poured foundation wall. The team then went around the basement and sealed all the floor cracks with NexusPro. There was no evidence of water or dampness in the basement at anytime since the home was built, so the homeowner did not need to consider any additional waterproofing solutions at time of installation. With the walls supported and the cracks all sealed, the homeowner was able to think long-term with their home and begin plans to finish their basement.

Auxiliary Wall Installation, Groton, MA

A previous customer in Groton, Massachusetts had previously had an Auxiliary wall, SmartJacks, and a SaniDry installed into their basement. The home has a rock foundation with different types of rocks that include some pieces of granite. The homeowner would like to have another Auxiliary wall installed to support a large piece of granite that is overhanging part of the rock foundation. The piece of granite is being used as a support for the home. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese inspected the basement. During his inspection, Kenny found that the piece of granite is overhanging the rock foundation by a significant amount. Kenny recommended installing an Auxiliary wall under where the granite is overhanging. This will add support to the granite while stopping some of the rock foundations from falling away.

Crew Lead Nick Carelli and his team installed an Auxiliary wall under the large piece of granite. This will support the granite for many years to come.
