Sunken and cracked concrete around your home is not only an eyesore but is also a safety hazard. As time goes by, if the problem isn’t corrected, it will only get worse. However, you have no reason to fret when you have the professionals at Erickson Foundation Solutions doing the work. Our experts use PolyLevel, a strong, and durable foam material to lift your concrete slabs back into place. We drill small holes into the slab where the foam is injected and expands, raising the concrete into place. Our SealantPro concrete sealant bonds with concrete on a molecular level to protect slabs against oil, gasoline, water, debris, and more. Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Job Stories From Georgetown, MA
Installation a Radon Mitigation System in Georgetown, MA

When the homeowner in Georgetown, MA reached out to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions, they had a specific concern: they needed a radon mitigation system installed in their home with a heated floor system. They were worried the process could disrupt their unique heating setup. Understanding their predicament, we hatched a precise plan to ensure we tackled the radon issue without harming the integrity of their heated floors.

Utilizing an infrared camera, our System Design Specialist Kenneth Calabrese was able to pinpoint the optimal extraction point for the radon mitigation system. This avoided any interference with the heated flooring, ensuring we maintained the warmth and comfort the homeowner enjoyed. With the extraction point identified, PVC pipe ran to the exterior of the home, where the fan was then installed. More pipe was then added to release radon above the roofline, a safe distance away from any entry point of the home. We then proceeded to seal any cracks and joints in the basement using NexusPro. This specialized sealant not only keeps radon gas at bay but also doesn’t shrink, crack, or peel, ensuring those pesky radon levels stay low for the long haul. But we didn’t stop there. To enhance the homeowners' peace of mind and contribute to a more insulated basement, we installed Foamax on the basement walls. Foamax is not just an efficient insulation material; it drastically improves a home's energy efficiency, contributing to a more comfortable and healthier indoor environment.

In the end, the homeowner was thrilled with the outcome. Not only did we address their radon concern with a tailored, effective solution, but we also took every precaution to protect and enhance what made their home special—their heated flooring. At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we pride ourselves not just on fixing problems, but on preserving the comfort and security of your home, ensuring a brilliant customer experience and a hassle-free solution to what could have been a complex issue.

Musty Smell In Basement, Georgetown, MA

A homeowner in Georgetown, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for about 5 years. They expect twins and want to rid their basement of its musty smell before birth. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Kenny Calabrese met with the homeowners and spoke to them about their concerns. After a conversation, Kenny inspected the basement to identify the best way to reduce the moisture levels inside the basement. The basement was already sealed with rim joist insulation so Kenny felt that a SaniDry Sedona was a great option to lower the moisture levels.

Our installation team arrived at the home on our scheduled installation day and installed the SaniDry Sedona in the basement. The Sedona was able to lower the moisture levels inside the basement to lower the moisture in the basement.

4 Season Porch Supports Settling, Georgetown, MA

This homeowner in Georgetown, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past decade. Since they moved into their home they had noticed the doors and windows were difficult to open. Since living in the home for a while the problem has continued to get worse. The homeowner was planning to have someone come out to their home in 2020 but that was when the pandemic hit us in full force and they decided to postpone their search until 2023. Now in 2023, they called EFS for a free inspection, and our Design Specialist Liam FitzPatrick met with the homeowner and inspected the 4 season porch and inside the basement. During his inspection, Liam found that the cause of the tight doors and windows was because of settlement. The supports under the porch were settling and caused the porch to sit unevenly causing the framing to flex, which makes the windows and doors difficult to open. Also during the inspection, Liam was directed at a crack inside the basement that was allowing water into the home. The solution that Liam recommended to the homeowner was to install Helical Piers under the porch to eliminate the settlement and then seal the crack in the basement with FlexiSpan to prevent water from entering.

Brick and Stone Foundation Wall was Bulging Inward, Georgetown, MA

This homeowner in Georgetown, Massachusetts, lives in a home that was built in the 1800s. They have lived in the home for the past 60 years and plan to pass the home on to their kids. Over the last 10 years, they have noticed the brick and stone foundation wall was bulging inward. The homeowner has seen the issue get worse over time and was worried about the foundation collapsing. The homeowner called EFS for a free inspection of the foundation. Our Design Specialist John Prince met with the homeowner and thoroughly inspected the basement. He confirmed that the wall was bulging and recommended installing an Auxiliary wall the length of the foundation wall.

Our Installation Team led by Nick Carelli, began by measuring the foundation wall and installed PowerBraces every 5-6 feet down the wall. The PowerBraces mount to the floor and to the floor system above to gain the leverage to stabilize the wall. To stabilize the entire wall the team bridged the rebar between PowerBraces. After the rebar was installed the team then set up our concrete forms about 8 inches from the foundation wall so we could form the Auxiliary wall. After the forms were set and reinforced, the team called a concrete delivery service to bring them a truckload of concrete to fill the forms. The concrete was then poured into the forms, then the team had to wait 36 to 48 hours for the concrete to cure. After the concrete had cured the team returned to the home and removed the forms from the wall and trimmed off any imperfections.

The foundation wall was now stabilized and the homeowner doesn't have to worry about a potential collapse of the foundation wall. The homeowner now has the confidence to pass the home down to their kids.

Crack in Garage Leaking Infrequently, Georgetown, MA

A resident in Georgetown, Massachusetts has been living in their home for 17 years and has been experiencing occasional water leaks into their garage through a foundation wall crack. To finally tackle this issue, the homeowner contacted EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist, Tom Armano, met with the homeowner and conducted an inspection to find a solution. Tom recommended using FlexiSpan to seal the crack and prevent any further leakage onto the garage floor.

Our Installation Team, led by Branden Edwards, began by cleaning out the crack, chipping an area at the bottom to create a drainage system, and then installing a flexible foam over the crack. Our impermeable membrane was used to secure the foam, and the team ensured that the crack could drain through the drainage system. Finally, concrete was used to conceal the drainage system.

The homeowner was extremely satisfied with the results and is no longer concerned about water entering their garage.
