Foundation Repair Photo Album: Garage Wall Repair in Leominster, MA
A homeowner in Leominster, Massachusetts noticed that the garage wall was cracked before moving into the home. As time went on, the situation became worse, as the wall started bowing outwards. A previous contractor tried fixing the issue with a metal brace, but this only made the crack expand. Fearing that the garage could collapse, she called Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, George Gouthier, recommended installing our GeoLock wall anchor system to stabilize the wall. Steel plates are installed to the wall and connect to a galvanized rod, which then connects to an anchor that locks into durable soil. Our installation crew installed these GeoLocks underneath the garage foundation to support and stabilize the wall. Not only does this prevent leaning and bowing, but this system can even potentially straighten the wall.
With the GeoLocks installed, the homeowner has peace of mind that the garage is safe and properly supported.
Garage Wall Crack
The garage crack started to resemble a zigzag shearing pattern, which signals that the foundation wall is unstable.
GeoLock Anchoring Rod
The steel rods are drilled through soil until strong enough soil is found. These rods connect the plate and the anchor.
GeoLock Wall Stabilization Anchor
When durable soil was found, our installation crew chipped out the concrete of the garage floor above it in order to install the GeoLock anchors.

Cement Finishing
After GeoLocks are installed, the area where anchors were installed are cemented to help keep them in place, as well as repair concrete that was removed for installation.
