Foundation Repair Photo Album: Foundation Wall Needed to be Straightened, Merrimac, MA
A homeowner in Merrimac, Massachusetts, has lived in their 1950s home for the past decade. A few years ago they noticed the floors begin to slope slightly. Year after year the problem seemed to get worse. Now after a few years of dealing with the problem getting worse, the homeowner decided it was a good time to find a solution to the problem. The homeowners reached out to EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist found that the foundation wall was leaning inward. We recommended installing Geolocks to the foundation wall to straighten it.
Our team began by marking where each Geolock will be installed. After they were marked the team dug a trench 10' from the foundation wall. While one of our team members was digging the trench with an excavator, another member was drilling small holes in the foundation wall so they could send a rod from inside the foundation wall to the trench. Once all the rods were sent into the trench the team then attached Geolock Plates to either end of the rod and began tightening them. The team tightened the rods carefully until the wall began to be straightened. Once the wall was straightened the team backfilled the trench and cleaned up.
