Foundation Problems Photo Album: Garage Support Were Rotting, Londonderry, NH
A homeowner in Londonderry, New Hampshire, has lived in their home since 1996. Years ago the lally columns in their garage began to rot and the homeowners have started to worry. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of the supports in the garage. Our Design Specialist Anthony Brancato met with the homeowners and talked to them about the rotting supports in the garage. After talking about the supports Anthony went into the garage and inspected the garage and supports. After his inspection, Anthony recommended replacing the 2 rotting supports in the garage with 2 SmartJacks.
Our installation team led by Eric Witham began by setting up temporary posts inside the garage so we could remove the rotting lally columns. After the supports were removed the team then began chipping out concrete in the garage so we could install our SmartJack footings on a stable surface. We installed the footings and then measured and cut the SmartJacks to the correct size so we could attach them to the main beam in the garage. After the SmartJacks were installed and connected to the main beam the last thing that we needed to do was mix concrete and cover the footings to match the rest of the garage floor.

Cover Footings With Concrete
The last step of installing the SmartJacks was to mix up concrete and pour it over the footings to lock everything into place.
