Foundation Problems Photo Album: 4 Season Porch Supports Repaired, Georgetown, MA
This homeowner in Georgetown, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 10 years. When they moved into their home they had noticed their 4 season porch windows and doors were difficult to open and close. They had planned to tackle this project during 2020 but the pandemic derailed the project. So now almost 3 years later the homeowners have reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Liam FitzPatrick met with the homeowner and inspected 4 Season Porch. During his examination, Liam found that the porch supports had settled. He recommended installing 3 Helical Piers with porch brackets and FlexiSpan to seal a crack in the foundation wall that the homeowner pointed out in their basement.
Our Installation Team led by Edward N. began by adding temporary supports under the porch so we could remove the old and settling supports. After the supports were removed we used our hydraulic drive head to begin installing our Helical Piers under the porch. We drove in our Helical Piers until they reached sufficient pressure to support the porch. After the piers were driven to the correct pressure we installed our porch bracket and pressure-treated wood to mount to the bottom of the porch.
