Foundation Problems Photo Album: Upgrading Support Posts Before Finishing Basement, Nashua, NH
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, has plans to finish the basement of their home. Before they finish it they need to replace the temporary support in the basement. So the homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Isaac met with the homeowner and examined the supports in the basement. After looking at all of the supports in the basement Isaac recommended installing SmartJacks to replace the old temp posts.
Our Installation Team led by Eric Witham began by chipping out concrete on the basement slab so we could install the footing for each of the 6 SmartJacks. After the footings were installed the team then measured and cut each of the vertical supports to fit just under the main beam so we could install our adjustable top bracket to the support and to the beam. After the brackets and supports were secured the team then tightened the adjustable bracket to lift up on the beam. After all of the SmartJacks were installed and tightened, we then mixed up some concrete and poured it over the footings to lock the SJ in place.
