Foundation Problems Photo Album: Homeowner Worried About Strength of Floor System, Newmarket, NH
This homeowner in Newmarket, New Hampshire, lives in a home built over 100 years ago. Since they moved into the home they have always noticed the floors to be bouncy. The homeowner had concerns with the strength of the floor system so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Victor inspected the basement with the homeowner. During the inspection, Victor recommended installing SmartJacks to add support to the floor system, CleanSpace in the dirt crawlspace to prevent moisture from seeping into the basement, and a SaniDry to keep the humidity in the basement low so mold can't begin to grow.
Our installation team began by installing our 6 SmartJacks in the basement to support the floor system. The team installed the SmartJack and used the adjustable top to start lifting up the floor system to stabilize them. Next, the team installed CleanSpace in the crawlspace. Most of the basement was a dugout basement but the right third of the basement was a dirt crawlspace that was allowing moisture into the basement. We installed CleanSpace over the dirt in the crawlspace to prevent moisture from coming up from the ground. After the CleanSpace was installed in the crawlspace, the team then finished the project by installing a SaniDry Sedona into the basement to control the moisture in the basement to prevent mold spores from growing.
The homeowner was very happy with the results of the project.
