Foundation Problems Photo Album: Large Crack in Garage Floor, Center Barnstead, NH
The owner of a home in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire, had lived in their home since 1985. Approximately 5 years ago, the homeowners noticed some cracks in the slab of their detached garage. Over the next 5 years, the homeowners found that the crack has continued to get larger. The homeowner would like to prevent the crack from getting larger so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Jason inspected the garage and found that the right side of the garage had settled and caused the concrete slab to crack. The reason the crack continued to get larger was that the right side of the garage has continued to settle. To repair the garage, Jason recommended installing 3 Helical Piers on the right side of the garage, then lifting and leveling the slab using PolyLevel, and finally sealing the crack by using NexusPro.
Our Installation Team began by exposing the foundation on the right side of the garage. Next, the team used our hydraulic drive head to send our Helical Piers below the garage until sufficient pressure was achieved. Once the pressure was achieved, the team then installed our helical pier bracket over the pier and connected it to the garage. After the piers were secured the team then used PolyLevel to lift and level the slab. After the slab was lifted and leveled the team then sealed the crack by using NexusPro.
