Foundation Problems Photo Album: Sagging Floors On a 100-Year-Old Home, Concord, NH
The owner of a 100-year-old home in Concord, New Hampshire, had lived in this home for over 40 years. A long time ago the homeowner noticed a sag in the floors on the main level of their home. They have seen the problem get slightly worse over the years but they finally decided now would be the time to have the issue rectified. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist recommended installing 6 SmartJacks with 28' of Supplemental beam and a SaniDry into the basement to eliminate the sagging in the floors and control the humidity in the basement.
The installation team began by mapping out the locations of the SmartJacks and then chipped out footing for each support. The team will install each of the footings and then begin setting up the supplemental beam and SmartJacks. The team connected the SmartJacks to the Supplemental beam by using U brackets. Once the supports were secured to the supplemental beam, the team mixed concrete and poured the concrete over the SmartJack footings to lock them in place.
