Foundation Problems Photo Album: Rusted Lally Columns Replaced, Acton, MA
A homeowner in Acton, Massachusetts, had moved into their home about 2 weeks ago. When the home was inspected the inspector noted that the lally columns in the garage were rusting at the top. The homeowner wanted them to replace the rusted lally so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist recommended replacing the lally columns with SmartJacks.
Our installation team began by chipping out 4 footings so we could put rebar and concrete to make a solid location to rest the footings of our SmartJacks. After the footings were cured the team installed the SmartJacks over the footing and attached them to the beam above. After the team secured the SmartJacks to the beam they then pour a layer of concrete over the footing of the SmartJacks to lock it in place.
