Foundation Problems Photo Album: Stabilizing Bump Out Addition, Stoneham, MA
A homeowner in Stoneham, Massachusetts, has lived in their home since 2014 and has felt stability changes in their dining room since 2019. The dining room is being supported by stacked concrete masonry blocks and they wanted someone to look at the supports. They reached out to a couple of companies before setting up an appointment with our Design Specialist Keith. Keith recommended replacing the supports under the dining room with 5 Helical Piers.
Our installation team began by adding temporary support around the dining room so we could remove the concrete masonry block supports. Once removed the team then began driving our Helical Piers down below the dining room using a hydraulic drive head. The team drove each pier down into the ground until they reached 1800psi. After each pier was pressurized to the correct amount the team then installed our porch bracket and installed a pressure treated 6x6 support to the bracket and then to the bottom of the dining room floor. After all the 6x6s were installed, the team then removed the temporary posts and tested the dining room for stability.
The homeowners were surprised by the increased stability of their dining room.
