Foundation Problems Photo Album: 1800s Home Needed to Sloping Floors Repaired, Exeter, NH
A homeowner in Exeter, New Hampshire, had recently purchased their home from their mother-in-law. The home has seen different generations live in this home and the new homeowner planned to have it see more. When they moved in the homeowner noticed the floors on the main level of the home were sloping. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Liam recommended installing SmartJacks to replace the old supports in the basement to eliminate the sloping of the main floor.
Our production team began by marking where each support will be installed in the basement. Then the team used a jackhammer to chip out sections of concrete to then install the footings for the new supports. The team installed the big footings on top of the engineered fill to ensure that the support will not sink when the weight of the floors was on top of them. After the footings were installed, the team then cut the galvanized steel to the correct height and then installed them to big footings. Once the steel beams were installed, the team then attached the adjustable topper to the top of the steel to then secure it to the wooden support beam of the home. Once everything was connected the team made sure to level each support to ensure the footings were level and the steel was straight up and down.
Basement Before SmartJacks
The floors in the main level of the home were sloping because of old support posts.
EFS Installed 10 SmartJacks
Our team installed 10 SmartJacks with big footings beneath the concrete slab.
SmartJacks Fully Installed
The team made sure to have everything leveled and straight before setting the footing in concrete.
More SmartJacks
The 10 SmartJacks installed will help share the load of the floor and prevent it from sagging or sloping anymore.
