Foundation Problems Photo Album: Detached Barn Had Bowing Floor, Milford, NH

A homeowner in Milford, New Hampshire, had a detached barn on their property. The homeowner has only lived in this home for just over 20 years and they don't know when the barn was built but it was showing its age. The homeowner has found that the floors in the barn were bowing and fear that the supports under the floor were sinking. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist recommended installing SmartJacks to stabilize the floor and then installing a perimeter water drainage system with CleanSpace to collect any water that collects under the barn floor. Also, the specialist recommended installing a dehumidifier in the crawlspace to control the moisture.  Our production team began by installing 3 footings for the SmartJacks. The team casts the footings using engineered fill, rebar, and concrete to create a stable base for the supports. After the team set the footing of the SmartJack they installed our bases and attached the rest of the SmartJack to the main beam. The team then used the adjustable top of the SmartJacks to lift and level the floor of the barn. After the SmartJacks were installed, the team used CleanSpace to encapsulate the walls in the crawlspace. Next, the team dug out a hole for the basin of the TripleSafe and a track for the perimeter drainage system. After the installed and testing the perimeter drainage system the team then installed the SaniDry dehumidifier next to the TripleSafe and ran the drainage line from the dehumidifier into the TripleSafe basin.
