Foundation Problems Photo Album: Brick Columns In Basement Need To Be Replaced, Portsmouth, NH
A homeowner in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, had recently bought a home that was built in 1900 and they found that the floors are unlevel. The home had brick supports in the basement that have allowed the floors to sag over the years. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing SmartJacks to replace the brick supports.
Our production team began by setting up temporary posts and removing the brick support posts in the basement. After, the team started to chip out the concrete where SmartJacks will be installed. Following chipping out the concrete the team removed some of the dirt under the concrete to make room where they can install rebar and pour in concrete to make a base for the SmartJacks. Once the bases cure the team installed the SmartJacks on top of the concrete bases and attach them to the beams above. The team made sure to level all of the SmartJacks before covering the footing in concrete.
