Foundation Problems Photo Album: Supports Under Covered Porch Are Compromised, Merrimack, NH
A homeowner in Merrimack, New Hampshire, had a covered porch off the back of their home. The supports underneath the porch are compromised and aren't safe. The homeowners don't let anyone go into that room for fear that it would collapse. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist recommended replacing the old supports under the covered porch with EZ posts.
Our production team began by supporting the porch with temporary supports. After the team installed the temporary supports they began removing the old supports. After the team removed the old supports they began prepping to install the EZ post. EZ posts are supports that are torqued into the ground by a hydraulic drive head. The EZ acts as a giant screw and locks itself in the ground. To make sure the EZ post can withstand the weight of the covered the team had to screw them in until they reach a particular pressure. The team installed 6 EZ posts under the covered porch. All of the EZ posts are pressurized to the correct PSI and then secured to the covered porch.
