Foundation Problems Photo Album: Fieldstone Foundation is Leaning In, Haverhill, MA
This homeowner in Haverhill, Massachusetts was experiencing the fieldstone foundation leaning inward. The homeowners have tried to brace the wall using pieces of wood but to no effect. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.
Design Specialist Michael Bradley inspected the basement and the exterior of the home. Michael inferred that hydrostatic pressure is pushing against the outside wall. Michael recommended installing an Auxiliary Wall against the fieldstone foundation. The Auxiliary Wall acts as a brace for the foundation wall.
Before the crew can show up at the home, the homeowners had to move their electric panels and water heater off the wall.
Crew Lead Nick Carelli and his team started installing the Auxiliary Wall. The team first installed the rebar and the PowerBrace on the wall. Next, they fixed the forms into place. Finally, a concrete truck arrived and the crew poured concrete between the forms and the wall until it got to the top. Then they let the concrete cure and once fully cured the team will remove the forms and trim off any imperfections.
