Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Job Stories From Dracut, MA
Storefront Concrete Repair in Dracut, MA

At Erickson Foundation Solutions, we recently tackled an interesting challenge for a business in Dracut, MA. The problem started when a homeowner noticed a significant issue in front of their storefront – a concrete slab had sunk, creating not just an eyesore, but a potential tripping hazard for customers. Understanding the urgency to maintain both the aesthetic appeal and safety of their business front, they reached out to us for help.

Upon their call, our Customer Care team swiftly set up an appointment with the business owner, demonstrating our commitment to exceptional service right from the start. One of our expert System Design Specialists Nikki Burke then visited the site for a thorough inspection. Identifying the core issue, we formulated a custom solution that would not only address the sunk slab but also ensure the problem wouldn't recur. Our proposed fix involved the use of PolyLevel - a strong, lightweight polyurethane foam, perfect for lifting and stabilizing concrete slabs. Alongside this, to seal up any cracks and prevent moisture ingress, we utilized NexusPro - a durable, flexible sealant designed for concrete joints. With the plan set, our skilled production team got to work. We began by precisely injecting PolyLevel foam beneath the slab, which quickly expanded to raise the concrete back to its original level. Next, NexusPro was applied to all cracks, seamlessly sealing them away from any future water intrusion.

The outcome? A perfectly leveled slab in front of the storefront, as if the issue had never been there. The homeowner was thrilled to see the transformation, grateful that their business could continue safely welcoming customers without the worry of tripping hazards. For us at Erickson Foundation Solutions, it was another successful day's work, encapsulating our mission driven approach towards providing remarkable customer service and a permanent solution.

Water Invading Storage Space in Basement in Dracut, MA

Recently, a homeowner in Dracut, MA, reached out to us with a problem that’s becoming all too common – water leaking into their basement, raising concerns for the safety of personal items stored there. Understandably worried, they were looking for a reliable, lasting solution to protect their home and belongings.

Once they contacted our Customer Care team, we quickly scheduled a home inspection to identify the root of the issue. Our System Design Specialist John Prince visited the home, took a thorough look around, and pinpointed the main causes of the water intrusion. Based on this inspection, we recommended a trio of products known for their effectiveness in basement waterproofing: WaterGuard, a TripleSafe Sump Pump, and an IceGuard system. Our installation team, including foreman Ryan Champagne and skilled installers, got to work. The WaterGuard system was strategically placed around the perimeter of the basement to capture water at its entry point, preventing any future leaks. The TripleSafe Sump Pump, a key element in the setup, ensures that any water collected is efficiently pumped out of the basement, offering peace of mind even during heavy rainfalls. To tackle those cold Dracut winters, the IceGuard system was installed to allow water to exit from the sump pump even if the discharge line freezes, guaranteeing the homeowner's basement remains dry year-round.

Once the work was completed, the transformation was clear. The homeowner's basement transformed from a place of worry to a secure storage space. They no longer fear the forecast, knowing their items and home's foundation are protected from water damage, thanks to the reliable systems we put in place.

Waterproofing a Partially Finished Basement in Dracut, MA

Recently, we had the pleasure of helping a homeowner in Dracut, MA, who faced a rather damp challenge. Every time it rained, they found themselves in a soggy situation with 1-2 inches of water covering their partially finished basement floor. They were tired of the constant shop vacuuming and were looking for a permanent fix to protect their space.

After they reached out to us, our Customer Care team quickly scheduled a visit. One of our System Design Specialists, Debra Rayborn, then carefully inspected the basement to get to the root of the problem. Our diagnosis? The basement needed a robust waterproofing system. We recommended installing our WaterGuard system, the TripleSafe Sump Pump, and the IceGuard to not only protect the basement from water but also ensure it stays dry, no matter the weather. Our production team, consisting of our experienced foreman Ryan Champagne and skilled installers, swung into action. We installed WaterGuard along the basement's perimeter to catch any water that seeps in and channel it to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, our most reliable sump pump system designed to handle high volumes of water and provide three levels of protection. To combat freezing temperatures and avoid blocked discharge lines, we added the IceGuard system.

It was a seamless process, from installation through cleanup, leaving the homeowner with a perfectly dry and protected basement. The outcome was exactly what we strive for - a happy homeowner with a durable solution in place. No more constant vacuuming, just peace of mind that their basement is safeguarded against future water woes. This job was yet another testament to our commitment to providing remarkable solutions and a hassle-free experience.

Replacing an Existing Sump Pump in Dracut, MA

When a Dracut, MA homeowner noticed water seeping into their basement despite having a sump pump already installed, we at Erickson Foundation Solutions knew it was time to step in and help. Understanding the frustration of a leaking basement and the potential damage it can cause, we were on a mission to not only solve the homeowner’s issue but to ensure a lasting solution that speaks to our reliance on exceptional customer service and integrity. Upon contact, our Customer Care team swiftly scheduled a home inspection where our System Design Specialist, Victor Tapia, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the basement. The diagnosis was clear; the existing sump pump was inadequate for the job. Our proposed solution promised not only to rectify the current leakage but to protect the basement from future water problems—an upgrade to the TripleSafe Sump Pump system accompanied by the cutting-edge IceGuard system was recommended for its unmatched efficiency and reliability. Our production team, consisting of expertly trained foreman, Kyle DeChane and installers, embarked on the installation with precision and alongside ongoing communication with the homeowner. The TripleSafe Sump Pump system we installed is renowned for its three-pump design, capable of adapting to varying levels of water inflow and ensuring the basement stays dry under any condition. The IceGuard system was an essential add-on, designed to prevent potential blockages in the sump pump discharge line due to freezing, which is a common issue in areas like Dracut, MA. Upon completion of the project, the transformation was evident. The homeowner’s persistent problem with basement leakage was resolved, providing peace of mind and a dry basement even under harsh weather conditions. Through this job, we demonstrated our commitment to implementing long-lasting solutions and delivering a positive experience that underscores why homeowners trust Erickson Foundation Solutions for their waterproofing needs.

Installing Perimeter Drainage to Existing Sump Pump, Dracut, MA

Rocco S. is a homeowner who has been dealing with a wet basement. Despite already having a sump pump, Roco is still experiencing leaks. This is not uncommon in areas where soil is heavily saturated with water. With the basement being used for storage, Rocco was concerned about his personal belongings getting damaged. He reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team for a permanent solution.

After scheduling an appointment through our Customer Care Center, a Design Specialist went out to Dracut, Massachusetts to inspect Rocco's home. After finishing the inspection, John Prince was able to provide solutions to keep the basement dry. He recommended installing WaterGuard, a piping system designed to intercept water while safely protecting the basement. This drainage system goes along the perimeter of the basement and filters to the sump pump. Our installation crew installed the system and then cemented it into place.
The perimeter drainage in addition to the sump pump offers much more protection to the foundation. This waterproofing system gives the homeowner peace of mind that the basement will remain dry and his storage secure.

ERV Installation, Dracut, MA

The owner of a rental property in Dracut, Massachusetts has owned the property for the past ten years. They have tenants living in the building who have expressed concerns about radon levels. The owner wants to ensure their tenants' safety, so they contacted EFS for a radon inspection. Our Design Specialist, John Prince, met with the owner and left a 48-hour CRM test in the basement to monitor radon levels for an extended period. After completing the test cycle, John returned to review the results with the owner.

The results showed an average of around 4.3 pCi/L, which is slightly above the recommended amount provided by the National Radon Defense. John recommended installing an ERV system in the basement. Although an ERV is not traditionally used to mitigate large amounts of radon, it will work perfectly in this scenario to lower the already manageable radon levels in the home even further.

Our installation team, led by Mike Lyall, located a suitable wall space in the basement to install the Energy Recovery Ventilator. This large system has two intake and two exhaust pipes and will take in fresh outside air, conditioning it to the temperature of the basement and bringing it inside while removing old, stale air from inside the basement and sending it outside. This process will help remove radon particles from the basement as well.

Once the installation was complete, the team showed the homeowner the ERV system, how it works, and its benefits. The homeowner was impressed with the system, and everyone was satisfied with the outcome.

Water Leaking For 20 Years, Dracut, MA

A homeowner residing in Dracut, Massachusetts, has been living in their house since 1988. Over time, they noticed water entering their basement through two cracks. Initially, it was a small amount of water, but the problem worsened, and now the homeowner describes it as gallons of water entering the basement. After enduring this issue for 20 years, the homeowner contacted EFS to request a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Nikki Burke, inspected the basement and recommended installing 2 FlexiSpans, a crack monitor, and NexusPro Crack Repair.

Our Installation Team, led by Steven Dumais, began the project by cleaning out the two cracks in the basement that were allowing water in. After cleaning the cracks, they chipped out the bottom of the wall to create a drain for the water. Then, they installed the FlexiSpan membrane over the crack and down to the floor. This allows the water to travel down the crack to the drain and flow beneath the home, keeping water out of the basement. Next, the team installed a Crack Monitor on the top of the crack to monitor its activity. Lastly, the team installed 40 feet of NexusPro Crack Repair to the slab's cracks.

The homeowner was pleased with the project's results and how quickly our team completed the installation.

New Crack in Foundation Was Leaking, Dracut, MA

A homeowner in Dracut, Massachusetts, has lived in their home since 1995. The foundation of the home was poured in 1994 but about a year ago the homeowner noticed a vertical crack in the foundation that was leaking water into the basement. In the past year, they have been a construction project nearby that had been blasting. The homeowner believes that the crack in their foundation was formed by pressure from the blasting. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their foundation. Our Design Specialist Anthony Brancato met with the homeowner and inspected the basement. After the inspection, Anthony recommended installing FlexiSpan over the crack in the basement.

Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards began by clearing any debris out of the crack. After the crack was cleaned the team then began prepping the crack and installing our FlexiSpan membrane over the crack. The membrane will prevent water from penetrating through the crack and into the basement. After the FlexiSpan was installed the team then sealed the crack on the exterior of the home.

The homeowner was pleased with the results of the project and no longer have to worry about water collecting in their basement.

Radon Mitigation System, Dracut, MA

This homeowner in Dracut, Massachusetts, had lived in their home for almost 50 years before they decided to finish the basement. When they decided to finish the basement the homeowner also decided to test the home for radon. The levels from the radon test came back at 2.1 which is fairly low. The homeowner wanted to make sure that the basement had the least amount of radon in their home. Our design specialist Michael B. recommended installing a radon mitigation system in the basement.

Our radon team first started by chipping out the concrete in the basement. They chipped out a small hole that will fit a PVC pipe. The team installed the PVC at the radon extraction point and ran the PVC pipe to the radon fan. The radon fan is installed on the outside of the home. The team connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the system above the roofline of the home to ensure radon cannot re-enter the home.

The homeowner was happy that the radon mitigation system lowered the amount of radon in their home. Now the homeowners can go ahead and finish their basement.

Dillon Kingsbury and his team arrived at the home and installed the Triple Safe in the basement.
