Wet Crawl Space
The wet crawl space and lack of insulation caused cold floors and musty odors. If left untreated, the crawl space could eventually be exposed to wood rot and other structural issues.
Crawl Space Drainage Matting and Encapsulation
Our crew started work on the project by laying down drainage matting directly on the soil. This prevents water from pooling in certain areas, allowing for easier drainage. Our CleanSpace TerraBlock system was then placed over the drainage matting to act as a form of both insulation and encapsulation.
Crawl Space Insulation
Our SilverGlo insulation was installed along the crawl space walls. Unlike other insulation, SilverGlo is water resistant. Other insulation can absorb water and become heavy and moldy, even falling out of joists. SilverGlo is designed to keep warm air in, therefore keeping floors warm while being energy efficient.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
Lastly, our CleanSpace vapor barrier is installed to the crawl space floor and walls. This fully encapsulated the crawl space, permanently keeping moisture out. Now that the crawl space is properly waterproofed and insulated, the entire home will now have healthier air and warmer floors.
