Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Smelly Crawlspace, Gilford, NH
A homeowner in Gilford, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for 15 years. An addition was installed onto the home a few years ago and the crawlspace underneath it has started to smell. The homeowner has concerns about mold in the crawlspace, so they contacted EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowners and inspected the crawlspace to find a solution to the smelly crawlspace. The first thing Jason noticed inside the crawlspace was how much humidity was in there. Jason tested the Relative Humidity in the crawlspace and the RH returned 71% which is high. Like the homeowner, Jason was concerned with mold becoming a problem. To combat this we recommended installing CleanSpace Encapsulation and SaniDry Sedona into the crawlspace so we could control the humidity to eliminate the odor.
Our installation team led by Anthony LoCascio began by removing any debris from the crawlspace. Next, our team began installing the CleanSpace Encapsulation. We installed 715 sqft of CleanSpace and 77 feet of CleanSpace Wall into the crawlspace to protect the space from moisture seeping up through the ground. After encapsulation was complete the team then installed our SaniDry Sedona to ensure the humidity stayed low to prevent dry rot and mold. The team cleaned up all of their tools and trash and left the space cleaner than they found it.
The homeowners were very pleased with the result of the project and no longer had to worry about that musty smell in their home.
