Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawlspace Encapsulation, Amesbury, MA
A homeowner in Amesbury, Massachusetts, purchased their home 2 years ago. Since living in the home they have noticed the crawlspace giving off a musty and damp smell. They also wanted to improve energy efficiency and the health of the home. The homeowner called EFS for a free inspection of their crawlspace. Our Design Specialist Tom Armano met with the homeowner and looked at the crawlspace. After a full inspection of the crawlspace, Tom recommended encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, and PolyLevel Wall Restoration. To address the homeowner's concerns of the musty and damp smell Tom recommended installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the moisture in the crawlspace.
Our installation team began by removing any debris from the crawlspace that would block them from installing our products. We then rolled out Drainage Matting into the crawlspace and covered the floor with the brown covering. We secured the matting with tape and began covering it with our CleanSpace encapsulation. We used the white encapsulation to cover both the floors and walls to fully separate the crawlspace from the earth. To ensure total coverage we sprayed the rim joists with PolyLevel Wall Restoration to prevent drafts of air from penetrating the crawlspace. After the space was fully encapsulated the team lastly installed our SaniDry Sedona to control the humidity and prevent that nasty musty odor that had built up in the crawlspace.
The homeowners were thrilled with the results of the project. The space is a lot brighter and doesn't have the strong odor that it had before.
Crawlspace Before
The crawlspace was musty and smelly and Tom recommended installing a solution that would eliminate the odor and separate the space from the earth.
Drainage Matting
We covered the floor with drainage matting to allow moisture to flow beneath the crawlspace.
CleanSpace and PolyWall Restoration Installed
The CleanSpace and Poly will prevent moisture and other things from entering the crawlspace.
