Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Old Fieldstone Foundation is Leaking Water, Methuen, MA
A homeowner in Methuen, Massachusetts lives in a home that was built in 1757. The foundation of the home is fieldstone and after over 250 years water is consistently coming into the basement and crawlspace. The homeowners have lived in the home for 40+ years and have only seen this problem happen more and more often. They decided to call EFS to see if we could find a solution for them. Our Design Specialist Tom Armano met with the homeowners to talk about their concerns and then proceeded to inspect the basement and crawlspace. After his inspection, Tom recommended installing a perimeter drainage system in the basement and then installing PolyLevel Wall Restoration against the interior wall to prevent water seepage.
Our installation team led by Abdou Taal began by installing the perimeter drainage system. We installed 36' of WaterGuard inside the basement and then integrated our UltraSump into the drainage system. After the drainage was hooked up to the sump pump the team then plumbed the sump to the exterior of the home where we installed an IceGuard and 26' Exterior Drainage Line to carry the water away from the fieldstone foundation. After the drainage system was fully installed the team began installing the PolyLevel Wall Restoration. The team sprayed the inside wall of the fieldstone wall with our spray foam. This foam will cover the wall and rapidly expand into cracks to prevent water seepage into the crawlspace and basement.
After the project was complete the homeowners didn't have to worry about water entering their basement anymore.
