Concrete Repair Photo Album: Pool Deck Repair, Shrewsbury, MA
This homeowner in Shrewsbury, MA was concerned with a couple sections of concrete around their inground pool. At the top of the pool stairs, the slab had settled and formed a couple trip hazards at the joints. There was also a corner of the patio which had settled more than 1.5 inches at the back edges. This formed another trip hazard, and was also unsightly.
Our team fixed both sections with PolyLevel, a two-part polymer foam material that fills the voids beneath the concrete and lifts it back up. Near the pool stairs, the slab came right up and the trip hazards were eliminated. At the corner of the pool, the concrete section that had cracked and settled raised up almost completely. The team then sealed some of the cracks and joints with NexusPro, a silicone based caulking specifically designed for exterior concrete use.
With the repairs made, the homeowner has peace of mind their pool deck is safer for years to come.
Pool Deck Settling
At this corner of the pool, the concrete had settled near the grass. This formed some trip hazards and caused the joint coping to tear out.
Concrete Pool Deck Concerns
At the top of the stairs, the concrete had settled about a half inch all around. This formed trip hazards on both ends of the slab, which is not good to have near a pool.
Concrete Deck Lifting
Our team successfully lifted the slab at the top of the stairs with PolyLevel. The process required no demolition of concrete, and was a quick and clean solution for the homeowner.
Slab Jacking
To help lift the concrete slab in this corner of the patio in a uniform way, the production team used slab jacks.
Concrete Lifting Around Pool
Our team was able to lift this concrete section back to be the same pitch and slope as the slabs to either side of it. The trip hazards were eliminated and the joints were sealed with NexusPro to prevent water from flowing underneath and into the soil.
