Front Stair Replacement , Nashua, MA
Challenge
This homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire was experiencing a unique issue. At the front of the home, they have a set of wooden stairs that lead into the house. The stairs leading into the home arent the issue, the issue is that there is a set of concrete stairs underneath the wooden stairs. The set of stairs that is under the wooden set is sinking into the ground further each year. The homeowner that has lived in this house for 6 years would finally like to address this eyesore. The homeowner decided to call Erickson Foundation Solutions for a free inspection.
Solution
EFS Design Specialist Stephen Caron arrived at the home and inspected the front stairs. Stephen ensured that EFS would be able to remove the two sets of stairs and install a new precast set of stairs.
After Stephen's appointment with the homeowner, he ordered the homeowner a new pre-casted set of stairs that will be delivered and installed by the EFS crew. The new stairs are a 3 riser stair that is 4' wide with a new 3 riser railing on each side.
Crew Lead Ed Nadreau and his crew arrived at the home and began removing the old stairs from the front of the home. The team was able to quickly disassemble the wooden stairs but needed some heavy equipment to remove the concrete steps. Ed used an excavator to lift up the stairs and remove them from the front of the house.
Ed and the crew then used the excavator again to lift the new stairs with straps. This time to set the stairs in place in front of the door.
