Concrete Leveling Photo Album: Lifting Concrete Patio, Canton, MA
Trip hazards on a concrete patio can be a hassle all year. In the winter when it snows, hitting the uneven concrete with a shovel is annoying. In the warmer months, the trip hazard is a nuisance and unsafe. This homeowner in Canton, MA needed to repair his uneven concrete in order to remove a trip hazard which had gradually formed and grown larger over the years.
The stamped concrete patio was in great shape on the surface, except for at the one joint which was dealing with settlement. Beneath this section of concrete, a void had formed due to water erosion, and so it sunk and caused the tripping hazard to develop.
Our Erickson specialists proposed the homeowner use PolyLevel to address his concern. PolyLevel as a solution would mean no costly removal or cutting of concrete, and would allow the homeowner to have access to and use his patio within just minutes. Our production team successfully injection the polymer foam and the homeowner watched the slab rise before their eyes. Afterwards, the team also used NexusPro to seal all the expansion joints, which helps ensure water is diverted off of the patio and does not run beneath it and cause more erosion or settlement. The results were picture perfect and the homeowner was very pleased.
Concrete Expansion Joints
The joints in the patio were wide and unsealed. This allowed rain water to flow beneath the slab and erode away at the soil, eventually causing settlement.
Sealing Concrete Joints
NexusPro was used to seal the expansion joint to prevent water from flowing beneath the concrete slab. The stamped concrete patio is now level and free of any tripping hazards.
