Concrete Leveling Photo Album: Settlement in Garage, Needham, MA
A homeowner in Needham, Massachusetts, had some cracks in their garage and wanted to put a piano in the room above the garage. The homeowners wanted a professional opinion on if the room above the garage could hold a piano. Our design specialist examined the cracks and supports in the garage and recommended using a combination of PolyLevel, NexusPro, and SmartJacks in the garage. Our specialist didn't trust the posts in the garage to support the weight of a piano.
Our production team installed Poly to lift and level the garage slab, NexusPro to Seal the cracks, and SmartJacks to support the weight of the piano on the floor above.
SmartJacks To Be Installed Under Main Beam
The team will install 4 SmartJacks to support the weight of the new piano.
Chipped Concrete
The team uses a jackhammer to chip a spot for the SmartJack footing.
Footing Set
The team lays engineered fill under each footing to create a stable base for the SmartJacks to rest on.
SmartJack Connected to Beam
The team cuts the SmartJack to its desired height. Then they connect the top of the SJ to the beam. Engineered fill is laid on top of the base for added stability.
Concrete is Poured
Finally, concrete is poured to secure the SJ in place and give it a clean finish.
