Leaky Foundation Wall Crack
Despite previous efforts to seal the foundation wall crack, water infiltration into the basement persisted. A more robust and comprehensive solution was necessary to effectively prevent water seepage in the basement area.
FlexiSpan
To address wall seepage in the basement, FlexiSpan was installed to the foundation wall cracks. The installation of FlexiSpan involves a three-step process. First, a flexible sealant is applied along the entire length of the crack. Next, a strip of flexible, porous foam is placed over the crack. Finally, an impermeable membrane is adhered to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. Unlike traditional sealant or mortar-based crack repairs, the FlexiSpan system remains effective despite hydrostatic pressure or minor movements in the basement wall.
TrenchDrain WaterGuard
To mitigate water intrusion, TrenchDrain was installed at the entrance of the bulkhead steps to capture any water before it could enter the basement. The collected water is then directed to the sump pump for efficient removal from the home.
UltraSump Sump Pump
The UltraSump Sump Pump ensures efficient water removal from the home at all times, including during power outages, thanks to its battery-operated backup system. When water enters the sump basin at the lowest point of the basement, the pump activates to expel the water, maintaining a dry and protected basement environment.
IceGuard
Water is expelled from the home via a discharge line. As the discharge line exits through the home's siding, IceGuard is installed to prevent clogging. IceGuard ensures continuous water flow during freezing temperatures, preventing ice from obstructing the discharge line. The discharge line is then buried to safely direct water away from the home.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot was installed at the end of the discharge line to enhance the efficiency of water drainage into the soil. This installation helps mitigate surface water pooling on the lawn.
SaniDry XP Dehumidifier
The SaniDry XP Dehumidifier was installed in the basement to effectively reduce moisture levels and enhance air quality throughout the basement and the entire home. This system also helps prevent mold growth and wood rot. The moisture collected by the SaniDry XP is automatically drained into the UltraSump Sump Pump, ensuring a seamless and autonomous drainage process.
